6 months to find out my return was rejected because I need a PIN. He was definitely trying to charge me more money to file my taxes than anybody else! $85 to set up direct deposit?!
Let me start off by saying I was referred by my modeling agent In south Florida and he does all of her taxes and financial needs. He said he could help and fix my issues. For example the last time I filed my taxes a couple years ago, the guy I was using put on there I attended school at Palm Beach State Collage.
However I didn't, and because of that they flagged my account. So I had to go to the IRS with all my originals w-2's and all the info to verify I am who I am. And so on you get the point.
Well Tim Lewis, explained how he can help me get all my tax money back for 2016, also get some returns for 2013 and 2014 that had some things missing. He said he would email some permission forms to sign and send back. His fee for this was $90, he told me. I told him, once he could figure out how much I was getting back from the IRS that he could
Take it out of that. Well after a couple month go by I was wondering what the next step is. So I called and Tim and he asked me "how do I plan on paying for his services"? Which I thought we had already agreed on how he would receive his payment. Then he told me it was going to be $350. I said why so much Tim?? I thought you told me Just a flat rate of $90. No each form he pulled and I signed was $90 plus $85 fee for using direct deposit. I couldn't understand the $85 fee. At this point after moving back to Jacksonville, I just need this money. Now it's month 3, so I called again to see what I needed to do now. He said I need to sign another 3 forms for my older taxes.
I asked if he could email me an invoice of evrtging he is charging me? He emailed me back a nasty response saying "I cannot believe you are accusing him of taking advantage of You, my prices are the cheapest Ion America and Im also applying a discount because you are a friend if my client. I never take advantage of anyone"! I said first of all tim I never thought for a second you were taking advantage of me. I wanted to know for my own records because i have some things i need to pay with this money when i recieve it. I didn't write it down the first time you told me how much it was going to be. Also I am paying you for your services. I should be able to ask whenever and as many times as I would like.
I wait 2 more weeks before I call again. This time he says he only deals with the IRS on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He will contact them next week on Tuesday and let me know to check back. Well Tuesday rolls around and nothing from him all day. So I call at 5:45pm and asked what is going on?? He said what did I say last week? I would contact them right? Yes you did but I didnt get a call from you. He then told me I cannot call his office ever again, emails only. So I called my agent to contact him and find out what is going on. When she called I listened. He started tell her that I'm ignorant and not educated. That this had been one of the worst experiences he has ever dealt with and to be careful who she refers over in the future. He said he's going to send her one last form I have to sign because my taxes were rejected. Once he receives the form back signed then I will get a form stating exact amount and date I will have it in my account.
So the eamil had an attachment when I opened it, it was asking for a password. I didn't know The password and I. Not allowed to call him, so if it wasn't for my agent I couldn't have gotten The password from him. The form was signed on a Thursday, that following Tuesday no response I have her contact him on Thursday he said I got everything taken care of you will get this final email this afternoon. The email never came, Friday nothing as well. Last week I had her call him because he wasn't responding. Tim told my agent my taxes were rejected because I needed the original PIN code.
So now in realising for 6 months he hasn't done a damn thing except get my w-2's for the IRS. I told him when he started all this. I couldn't file this myself because I didn't have the correct PIN dromthe IRS.
Last Friday I was able to Contact my old tax person who filed for me in the past. He got my PIN for me. I explained what I've been going through with this guy for over 6 months. He said that's absolutely crazy! He really hasn't been able to file anything because he didn't have the PIN. He also said the $85 for direct deposit is complete BS it does not cost anything to set up direct deposit.
Now Tim emailed my agent today and said this is my fault that my return was rejected and he wants his $350 for all the work he's done for me. Then he will get me my money. I'm not paying this guy a dime! The deal was you get my return you take the money out of that. This guy is nothing but a miserable Haitian in a wheelchair.
