The representation ultimately ended when Rebecca decided to terminate the attorney-client relationship. Even after that decision, I experienced delays with the transition to replacement counsel and had to repeatedly follow up regarding my file and work product. Most frustratingly, after Rebecca and I had spent considerable time reviewing a settlement agreement provision by provision and discussing proposed changes, the marked-up document reflecting that work was not included in the file initially transferred to my new attorney, requiring yet another follow-up. Divorce matters are already stressful, and I believe clients should be able to expect timely communication, careful preparation, and an orderly transition if representation ends. I was also told the consultation would be 15 minutes, despite previously understanding it to be 30 minutes. When I expressed that I was only interested in meeting with the attorney I originally booked the consultation with, I was then told that doing so would require paying an additional $100, raising the consultation fee from $100 to $200. At that point, due to the lack of transparency around who I was meeting with, the consultation length, and the fee structure, I felt uncomfortable proceeding and requested a refund, which was granted. This review is not about the attorneys' legal ability, but about the intake and consultation process. Switching attorneys without advance disclosure and changing terms after arrival is not a professional experience, particularly for clients dealing with sensitive family law matters. I hope the firm improves its intake communication and transparency for future clients.

Unfortunately, my experience this time was completely different. Over approximately one year, I spent nearly $4,000 in legal fees and experienced ongoing communication issues, unanswered calls, and repeated court postponements. One particularly frustrating incident occurred in March 2026 when I took time off work and traveled to the courthouse in Jamaica, Queens, only to learn that my scheduled appearance was not proceeding as expected due to what Angel described as a court scheduling error. Despite this, I was asked to Zelle him $750 for his appearance What concerned me even more was a telephone conversation during which Angel told me he sometimes had to "play devil's advocate" regarding my ex-husband because he could relate to being in his shoes. He explained that he also had a girlfriend who did not get along with his ex-wife and that this affected his relationship with his own son because he did not want to upset his girlfriend. He also expressed that he wished he could speak to my ex-husband "man-to-man." As a mother seeking representation regarding concerns about my daughter's well-being, I found this comparison deeply inappropriate and began questioning whether my concerns were being evaluated objectively. My greatest disappointment came in July 2026 when my custody modification petition was dismissed without proceeding to trial. I had spent months gathering documentation concerning my daughter's well-being, which I had hoped to present. The opposing attorney had filed a motion to dismiss, and I had specifically questioned Angel about whether we needed to respond. After receiving the court's decision, I was concerned to see that the absence of opposition to the motion was discussed. When I questioned this, Angel maintained that the evidence was insufficient. During our final conversation in July, Angel said he would look into the cost of an appeal. As of October 8, I have received no follow-up. I understand that attorneys cannot guarantee outcomes. My dissatisfaction is not simply that I lost my case, but how the case was handled, the lack of communication, and the financial and emotional toll of the experience. As a single mother who trusted this firm based on previous representation, I am extremely disappointed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm for custody matters.
