The library is actually upstairs. It's a little smaller than some of the libraries I have been too. I do like how they gave an eating area and enjoyed their art on the wall. There is limited parking spaces. read more

I came here to study because I know this will be a perfect place for it. Rather be home with my kids. Buy all I hear is the reference ladies talking out loud. They don't have any consideration of the people around. I grew up knowing that you should shut your mouth when in the library. It's so bad. You guys should be a role model to everyone. read more

This is a difficult review to make , as I use the library often ( sometimes weekly ) , and the positives far outweigh the negatives . First of all , 90 % of staff members are very helpful , many being exceptionally polite and friendly . The history and biography sections are some of those that are especially strong , and the DVD collection of classic movies ( 1930s-1960s ) far surpasses that of any library in a ten mile radius . Lavatories and stairwells are kept exceptionally clean ( kudos to the hard working custodians ! ) ........ So why only three stars ? Just peruse the middle of the main floor , between the fiction section and the CDs : filthy boxes piled on a table every day , courtesy of one mentally handicapped patron who arrives daily . The director does virtually nothing about it . Why ? As a veteran Special Education teacher , I fully understand the need to provide sanctuary and outlets for troubled souls . But why allow one entire section to become a pigpen ? If a patron needs to spend 8 hours a day here , so be it . However , allowing the daily piling of dirty boxes on top of tables makes no sense at all . Those in authority , board members or the directors , needs to step up to the plate . This is my old reliable library. Easy, pure comfort. They have a very large selection of videos. Plus they have tons of music dvds and tv shows - ordered intuitively. Also, the rental period for dvds is 7 days! with a limit of 5! These are the best terms I have ever come across... I discovered that this library (and probably many others) have a basement where they have tons of movies and books that no one has taken out in years. It takes a while for them to get it, but really - what else are they doing? The computers are slightly out of the way and the reference desk isn't the most user friendly, but they do have a senior helper - so thats good. read more

I basically just come here for a place to study when Starbucks is full. They have large tables, comfortable chairs, wifi, and tons of outlets. When I study that's all I basically need. The new renovation makes it very inviting as well. I stumbled upon the study books they have and they are stocked with NCLEX books for my nursing exam. I'm excited to break those open soon. You can usually find me hiding at a table behind the DVDs because it's cozy back there. read more

i would give this library a big fat zero only because of the uptight, UNPROFESSIONAL ( exact job title not YET known BUT HAS HER OWN PRIVATE OFFICE WITH A WINDOW ). god forbid you are DETECTED by one of them engaging a plain computer related question to an IT employee ( information technology ). *** no everyone, i never spoke loud *** ( ESPECIALLY HOW THESE " unknowns " MAKE THEIR APPROACH ). this happened once two yrs ago from a downstairs " unknown " ( yes, ANOTHER PRIVATE OFFICE just a different rude woman ) and this yr from ( an upstairs " unknown" ) I have every intention on following up on this behavior this time with the director. common courtesy on HER part would have been to politely explain that the IT employees are not to assist library patrons. and by the way everyone, i am 99.9% sure THE LEVITTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY ONLY EMPLOYEES TWO technicians !!! i am a grown woman, deserve to be treated like a human being and not meant to feel intimidated or a bother. it was intended as a quick stop to MY library and ended horribly ( i left with knots in my stomach ). * everyone i appreciate your feedback and please wish me luck ! * read more

I went to the library because I have no power. Although the library is fully staffed, I was told that I could not use the computers. When I said I had my own computer and I wanted to use their internet, I was told I could stand someplace in the library and work for one hour. There were no patrons in the library at the time. Rather than stand and work, I went to Starbucks. It was a ridiculous situation. read more

Good place to stop and catch up on your email, or get some work or reading done. Wi-Fi is pretty good, but it does go on the blink occasionally. The staff here are generally pretty nice. They have their moments, but keep in mind that they take a lot of abuse, and have to deal with crabby old people signing up for classes and stuff, etc. Cut them some slack, even though they already have plenty of that, since they are civil servants. read more

The reference desk is always full of friendly, helpful people. The computers are available for use and printing is free for the first 10 pages. I love this library, that is all. read more

GREAT to download n borrow books n audiobooks for 2 wks to Kindle, phone, any device with automatic returns...no more lost books! Also terrific to print out from Groupon or any other sites rather than use up ink at home. 10 cents for black & white, 50 cents for color! read more

Have been going to this library which seems to be forever. They have some wonderful classes for the adults and I love the children's classes and activities for my grandchildren. read more

Good library to study though they only have 3 separated study rooms but a large children's collection, book collection, and movie collection. They also have some arts & crafts section that my wife likes. Recommend this library to anyone looking for a peaceful place to study. read more

Nice library with wifi and a large children area. BUT the reference desk is in the middle of the main area making it impossible to read or do anything in a quite environment. You see, the folks at the reference desk are loud mouths incapable of keeping quite. We teach children to be quite in a library but the people who work there have no clue how to behave, making it impossible for people to use the publicly funded place to the fullest extent. 2/26/17. read more

Beautiful library, open floor plan with natural lighting but a horrible place for studying. The reference desk is smack dab in the middle of the library and the librarian talks at a decibel not conducive to a productive and quiet study environment. If you can get here early enough to nab a study room do it, but definitely not the best place if you want to sit and concentrate. read more

I have been visiting this library for several years. I recently completed a documentary at the innovation station. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The library has modern technology including 3-D printers,3 Doodlers, and iMacs amongst many other equipment. read more

I borrowed two dvds from this library. The borrowing policy is seven days for dvds. I renewed my two dvds on the sixth day of borrowing them, a day before they were due the first time. When I returned the dvds on what was the fourteenth day of borrowing, the staff at the front desk insisted that I pay a fine of $2 per dvd! They explained that the dvds were due back a day earlier because I had renewed the dvds a day earlier than I should have. They kept saying that the system counts seven days from the date of renewal, and I should have waited until the seventh day to renew. They were right, I should have done that. I get that. However, as human beings, not a computer system, the library staff ought to have acknowledged that I made a simple mistake, and that technically, I was returning the dvds on time, and they should have cleared the fines. Alas, that was too much to expect from the library's front desk staff. It should also be noted that another time I was at this library, and I returned an item a day late because a BLIZZARD had rendered the library closed on the due date the day before, the library staff at the front desk still insisted on charging me a fine for returning the item one day late! This is the type of staff at this library. The library itself has a decent collection and I have been going to it for years, but the FRONT DESK STAFF really turn me off to going there now, unless I absolutely need to. read more
