They continually monitored as well as gave guidance to you in a helpful and encouraging manner. Like, "hey I noticed you were doing this, try this out, or maybe try doing this" which i thought was a good approach to interaction and instruction when seeing people throwing axes for the first time. There is also a water fountain, excellent, hydration is important. The bathroom was maintained which is also a plus, nobody likes going to a gross bathroom. Overall, if I'm in the area and have the spare cash I'd probably do this again. I'd probably try to be in a lane where there is nobody next to me though because waiting for somebody else to finish throwing just so I can retrieve my axe was tiring. Safety first though!

I've done multiple escape rooms in my hometown but I can honestly say that Breakout Games was by far very intriguing and fun to play! My family and I played Casino Royale the first time and Kristin was our game master. She was extremely helpful in giving us clues (especially since only 2 out of the 7 of us have played poker and we needed more help understanding those rules) and we ended up breakout out with 2 minutes to spare! We had so much fun that we decided to come back the very next day to play and there was a wheel to spin to even get an additional discount since we booked so quickly again. The second game we played was Mystery Mansion. This game felt harder and we got frustrated faster but it could also be because we had a party of 7 so too much was going on at once. He allows some practicing before you get started. He'll help you out with each item you want to throw and give you pointers. I HIGHLY recommend getting the "throw everything" package. Axes are awesome and the other items really make it fun. They have a huge variety of things to throw besides axes, so give them all a try. And some are much lighter than axes; like the stars, playing cards and skinny axes. And some are bigger! The variety is a lot of fun. What makes this place cool is the games. You have the option to throw at a bullseye target if you like. But they also have a bunch of games you can play; bomb defuser, a game similar to wheel of fortune, a battleship like game a many others. They basically use a projector in each lane hooked up to an iPad for the games. The games are then projected on to the target. The owner mentioned that he will be upgrading the software so it scores automatically; pretty slick. They also have a "rage room" where you can smash various objects. A group was in there while we had our session and when they came out, they were all smiles. This is a great spot in downtown Keene. Again, the owner is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The decor inside is really neat; a lot of rough sawn wood with some amazing historical pictures from Keene and the timber industry from back in the day.

My favorite was playing to 21 points with my partner. My bf Frank P. Was way better, having come before with his friends, but sometimes I came close to beating him at 21. If it were head to head there was no way I'd win- once he kept getting back to back bulls eyes and got invited to join a league. Honesty, those seem like a great deal as well- I think it's a bit over $100 for 5 weeks of competitive play! Must be a nice way to make friends. There's drinks (we had some mighty squirrel sours that were tasty), and board games in back too if you want to keep the competitive juices flowing.

The worker there was very nice and did a good job explaining how to throw the axe as well as safety guidance. We were both first timers so this explanation was very important to us. We had a 1 hour long reservation that we paid $80 for. We had so much fun throughout. Once we got the hang of throwing we started to play the game where you count points and try to get to 21 (worker suggested we play it). He also left us pen and paper to aid with scorekeeping. I noticed that they served beer and hard seltzer too. I didn't go for that experience but it's nice to know it was an option!
