I contacted New Driver about a week ago. After receiving my details they got back to me in an hour…read more All signs were looking up, I got messaged by a guy called Steve who said he would ring me at 3 o clock that same day to arrange a lesson. Come 3 o clock, no Steve. 4 o clock goes by, no Steve. So, it's getting on for 5 and I start work at 5 so I message Steve to tell him that if he had planned on calling then he wouldn't get through as I would be at work - could he reschedual for the next day? The message I got back was "I can call you at 6", to which I explained a further 2 times that I would be at work so that wouldn't happen. He soon apologised and agreed to try again the next day at 3 o clock. Come the next day, 3 goes by, 4 goes by and again we are getting onto 5. This time I was quite annoyed because it was the second time he had done this. So, I messaged him to tell him in no uncertain terms that I was disappointed and that I would go and try to find someone else as if he couldn't even manage to call at the times HE APPOINTED then I didn't have much hope for the lessons being arranged. He messaged me back, and this is what he said: "Hi there thanks for the rude message, do apologise but my 3 year old was rushed to hospital, sorry this was an inconvience to you, but my 3 year old is more important and sending a text is the last thing on my mind. You have a good day and good luck with your tuition with whoever you find." So, if he is lying (which I strongly suspect he was) that's disgusting. You shouldn't joke about things like that. He's flaky, I believe he just went for some excuse that would make me feel guilty. Honestly I had reservations when I first saw the wesite; it's dated, looks fake. The only thing I was attracted to from this site was the "first lesson for 2 hours but only £10." Like, I'm so glad I didn't give these people (or this person) money and I am uncomfortable with the fact that they have my number now.

It has been my pleasure to have trained with New Driver. I had been training with a national…read morecompany! But realised that the training for my part three PDI test was very inadequate falling down in several areas. Having had a second part 3 test cancelled by the D S A , was a blessing in disguise as now I realise that if I had gone for the test then I would have definitely failed. Training with New Driver has certainly turned out to be the best thing that could have happened as regard to my career as I passed my part 3 test at the next attempt! New Driver are a very knowledgeable company who certainly know their subject! I have been an Instructor for many years in a very different field [Shotokan Karate] but I recognise a good instruction when I see it. I am looking to take my career as far as possible.

I took automatic lessons around Autumn 2024 with the founder of the company. During one lesson, I…read morestruggled a lot with reverse bay parking. Instead of helping me, he just got increasingly frustrated and told me to do it again over and over. This was only in my first few hours of driving, which knocked my confidence a lot. Near the end of my lessons I still struggled with it, and he accused me of intentionally getting it wrong. He also would unnecessarily and unexpectedly use dual controls when he was annoyed with me. One time when I was parking in an empty car park I missed the bay he wanted me to park in. He slammed his dual control brakes and told me I missed the bay. This again damaged my confidence with driving, and made lessons a very uncomfortable experience. He was quite panicky when I made mistakes. When initially driving on roundabouts, I often didn't change lanes in time which would make him visibly anxious and he would shout at me to move. Whilst I get that I put us both in a dangerous situation, him panicking so much made the situation worse. It also made me more nervous at roundabouts, leading to multiple situations like this. I gave a 2 star review instead of 1 because I did end up passing first time and I can't speak for the other instructors. However, I feel like my confidence with driving has been negatively impacted by his teaching. I was initially excited to drive, but ended up hating driving and haven't bought a car as I want to avoid driving as much as possible. If you want to learn automatic, I would advise you avoid Yes Driving School as you're highly likely to get this instructor.

Left me trembling and in tears. Never a good thing for a company. I would never go with this company again, not in any life.
