I wasn't that impressed by this attraction in Arles. The entrance fee was included in our city pass that we purchased, so we decided to check it out. We were literally the only people here, but only spent about 10 minutes walking around.
I kind of expected there to be water running through the baths, but it's all pretty much rubble. Also, I guess people had to take out the lead pipes. Yikes.
It's very easy to miss. The entrance is on the parking lot/river side, but on the perpendicular street, there is a locked gate that you can see through into the baths. One of the signs even said that over the centuries, people have kind of built on top of the baths, so much so that the people had forgotten what the space was used for.
Unless you have the city pass, I wouldn't waste time visiting this attraction or spending money to see it. read more
