The shell was beautifully light and delicious with a meat and spice filling. We ordered the rib eye, white rice and grilled veggies - enough for two to share and well charred. The steak was delicious but a bit stringy. Service was good - once we figured it out. We scanned the QR codes and the menu (and WiFi) appeared with English descriptions and what turned out to be very accurate photos. The ambiance is kind of like I imagine a men's club - dark wood tables and seating with nice light and some interesting black and white art. There is in upstairs we did not explore. An easy walk from the high street. Very happy we found this yummy spot!

Beautiful place -- the concept, the look, the decor... honestly, chef's kiss…read more The 2-hour window to eat and enjoy your meal kind of sucks, though, and it definitely makes you feel a bit rushed. I did love the concept of being able to grill your meat a little more if you prefer it that way. Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience with the service. We were a table of 4 and wanted to share a few appetizers before getting our own main dishes. The server quickly shut us down and told us we were ordering too much food. We explained that we were very hungry, but he insisted we were asking for too much and actually refused to take our order. It turned into a bit of an uncomfortable argument because we simply wanted to order what we wanted to eat. Eventually, we had to reduce the number of plates we were ordering just so he would take our order. I ordered an appetizer, but when I tried to order my main dish, he again refused because he said it was too much food. At that point, I just decided to eat from my friend's plate instead. Then, after telling us we were ordering too much, one of my friends was still hungry and wanted to order the steak. Suddenly, the issue was that it was going to take too long to prepare. So first we were told we were ordering too much, and then when we wanted to add a steak later, we were told it would take too long. We eventually managed to order it, accompanied by a pretty obvious eye roll. And to top it all off, when we asked for dessert -- one each -- the server seemed genuinely shocked that four people wanted four desserts instead of sharing one. Honestly, the whole experience was just very weird and uncomfortable. I felt judged the entire time based on how much we wanted to order, and I've never had a server refuse to take my order because they thought I was ordering too much food. The food itself was good, but the service really took away from the experience. Between that and the strict 2-hour window, I'm not sure I'd go back or recommend it, which is a shame because the place itself is absolutely beautiful.

Smoked Butter is a beautiful thing, you don't see it in the states often, and for sure I would like to. It's a thing in Barcelona though, and I had it several places Raw Oysters and Grilled Oysters in pickled chicken soup. This was a nice two way presentation. I have to say I'm a fan of grilled oysters Burrata with seaweed pesto and candied tomatoes. This maybe sounded a bit more interesting than it tasted. Candied tomatoes kind of reminded me a stewed tomatoes. But burrata is always a good thing. Shiso Taco with steak tartare and horseradish. This was a miss for me. The Shiso leaf is getting way overdone at the moment, as it seems to be everywhere. It's obviously very common at Japanese sushi bars. I missed having some kind of crunch with the steak tartare. Maybe flash fry the Shiso leaf to make it crispy? This was all one texture Grilled Black Angus Hanger Steak. This was the best dish of the night. Smoked table side with a mini torch on wood embers, it smelled and tasted wonderful. Sweet and Sour Bonito with currents and radicchio. Hit all the right notes, no complaints here. Cuttlefish fried rice with Iberian pork. Had a beautiful crisp layer of rice on the bottom of the pan and the pork and cuttlefish went perfectly together as a surf and turf. It's Spain in a skillet. Passion Fruit Sorbet was a nice palate cleanser, wasn't super sweet, which led nicely into the dessert. Caprese Cake with Hot Chocolate and Orange. I love this flavor profile, which you never get in the US. The citrus of the orange cuts through the richness of the chocolate. Loved it. As far as tasting menus go, It's closer to 4 stars for me, but the place gets 1 extra star for the name and the vision that the chef always wanted to do things right when he owned his fucking restaurant. Now he does. Respect!!!!
