OMG. So glad we booked this hotel. Stayed here for three nights. We lucked out and got the weekend where they offered free wine to people visiting their winery. Such a beautiful estate, rustic and idyllic. Outdoor poor closed for the winter but they have an indoor pool, sauna and their very own spa. Also houses a two star Michelin restaurant la Grand'Vigne-- which was ah-amazing! Would definitley make a trip to go back. And maybe bring friends. read more

This resort is a true treasure! The service is impeccable; earning its true five star status. The employees are very professional, polite, and hospitable in ensuring all guests are treated well. After we were escorted to our room, we walked the grounds. Upon arrival to our room, we had a bottle of water, plate of fruit, and some cannels ready for our consumption! Please note this is a "French country" atmosphere. Very refreshing. The grounds have two public pools, two additional pools in the spa, walking trail around the resort and vineyard, a tennis court, and a cute hobby farm filled with goats, ducks and a few horses to look at. The breakfast is held at their Michelin 2 star restaurant, and is complimentary if you book your room through an AmEx Platinum card. Plus, if you book through the FRH, you receive $100 credit on site. They have three restaurants on site; one is a more casual wine bar, other is a casual restaurant, and the third is the Michelin 2 star restaurant. Superb experience! My suggestions are: book through AmEx FRH to receive the $100 credit and complimentary breakfast. We did also receive tokens for free glasses of wine. The tubs at resort are amazing, unfortunately they don't offer bath salts, so bring your own. Also, ensure to book the spa treatments well in advance! read more

We stayed at the chateau which was an amazing experience! I was on my honeymoon and knew that I wanted to stay at a chateau during the trip. Yes it's a mile away but the bikes make it so fun to get to the main hotel. I don't like biking but I felt really safe on the road so i was fine. The staff is also the best in the business. They are all so kind. I miss them Don't miss out on the caneles at the bar. Bummed I only discovered them our last night there. read more

This property, this family and this entire staff have redefined for me what truly caring about your guests is all about! If I ever come back here, it won't be just to have another incredible vacation but it would be to relive a dream that I'm having right now! I am still impressed by this place. My wife and I spend three days at Chateau Le Thil. Thomas was a great host. He took care of every detail during our stay. The Chateau is gorgeous, and our room was huge and beautiful. Unbelievable! The breakfast was superb: amazing jam, croissants, bread and more (all top quality stuff)... Do not miss the Sources the Caudalie Spa and Rituals. Best treatment of my life! Bikes are available for guests to bike around the vineyard. This review is a few years late in coming but I'm writing now bc it has set the bar for every establishment we've encountered ever since. After a few years of getting married, we hosted a second wedding reception dinner for relatives at La Table du Lavoir, the casual, rustic restaurant on the property. I did the coordination myself simply by emailing with their coordinator, Alison, directly from the US and everything went beautifully - menu selections were made, the evening was coordinated seamlessly as they moved us from room to room (for aperitifs, dinner and then drinks in their library upstairs) - The service was exceptional; I had brought flowers, and menu settings, favors, etc for the tables and they set everything up effortlessly. Both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised since we were not doing a formal wedding booking with them: our party was about 20pp and it was a reservation for 2 tables, not the whole dining area. We wanted to stay within a very small budget. I chose the location because I had always wanted to visit the grounds and we had no doubts about the quality of food on offer. However, we didn't expect that much attention -- the staff really made our experience feel special. It was their suggestion to host our aperitifs in their sunroom - a private room that opened out into their garden where several servers hand-passed hors d'oeuvres to our guests, they escorted us to our tables for dinner and they also offered to service after dinner drinks upstairs in their library that had terraces which overlooked the grounds. Our party moved around from place to place and it lent a nice flow to the evening - we felt like we had the place to ourselves in that way and the kindness of the staff to make those suggestions and do them for us (as it was extra work for them) was so appreciated. Our final cost was only for food and drinks - everything they did for us in terms of service was exclusive of the cost and above and beyond what we were expecting. They even gave us a gift of a bottle of wine in a presentation box and spa products at the end of our night. It was a perfect night where we were able to focus on our guests and enjoy their company in a beautiful setting. The staff at Caudalie really created the perfect atmosphere for us and we will always treasure that experience and we will definitely come back! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to come here and for any girl who has wanted the experience of a french wedding on a beautiful vineyard - I imagine they will deliver and then some. read more

We had a terrible experience at this hotel that demonstrates its poor management, largely incompetent staff, and utter lack of customer service. I'll focus on the major issues- ahead of arrival, the hotel did not communicate how many of the facilities were closed due to COVID-19 (nor was it indicated on their website). Only one of the three restaurants was operating and we couldn't get reservations there for each night of our stay (problematic because there are no other restaurants in the immediate area). Guests were only able to reserve gym access by hiring their private trainer for 70 euros an hour. The spa--the main draw of the estate--was almost fully booked and we were unable to get the services we wanted (most hotels of this caliber call you beforehand to make sure their guests can benefit from their facilities versus the public). Examples of other issues that were very surprising for a five star hotel- the reception called early in the morning to ask a question about room cleaning, waking us up. There were many times throughout the visit where the front desk did not pick up our phone calls, making it necessary for us to walk to the desk (you had to contact the desk to make reservations for the pool, tennis court, etc). On the final bill, we were wrongly charged for multiple items, which we luckily realized and got corrected. We did manage to get a booking for massages at the end of our stay, and were extremely disappointed in the spa as well. When we booked the massages, we were told (and saw in the brochure) that they would be 120 euros each and that use of the steam room and hammam were included. When we arrived for treatment, they did not give us the option to choose the type of massage as indicated in their brochure, tried to charge 125 euros for each massage (contrary to the price in the brochure), and also charged an additional 40 euros per person to access the hammam and steam room. Ultimately, the only thing they did to correct the situation was to refund us the 10 euros we were wrongly charged. The estate is beautiful but the level of customer service and management is appalling, especially considering the cost. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

In late June, 2015 had a fabulous three day stay here. Weather conditions were extremely hot but enjoyed staying here after flight in from LAX. As part of the Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte group holdings, I have to say we were very impressed. The two star Michelin restaurant was closed during our stay, but the hotel food was outstanding, the breads incredible and the wine selection fairly priced, particularly the store which allows you to take Grand Cru wines by the bottle to your room at a decent price. The atmosphere with active vineyards all around and their outstanding winery is across the road a short walk. Excellent hotel, business and families. A must visit. read more

Absolutely beautiful resort spa located next to Smith Havt Lafitte. 3 restaurants with great food. Stayed twice (sep 30/ oct 7) while touring Bordeaux region. Only down side is poor service at the Rouge walkin. Resort is full today (no reservation at Vigne or Table) so we'll be taking taxi to town for lunch. We won't eat at Rouge a 3rd time. Nothing in walking distance in this country side setting. read more

We arrived for our honeymoon on the 1st day they reopened after the holidays. When we arrived, we were not given a tour of the property (it's quiet big), we weren't told about tours, or the restaurants, or the spa, etc. We knew about the indoor pool from photos but they said it was not open, which was weird. Our room was nice, but not very private, and when we used the wifi, it didn't work. I approached the front desk and told them about our privacy concerns and the internet and they told me that the person who deals with the internet is not there today.And they wouldn't switch our room. Wouldn't you assume on opening day, you'd have all the important people there? The property was beautiful but every interaction with the staff was bad. By our 3rd day there, the pool was still not working and neither was the wifi. We asked if we could use the spa pool and they said yes, but when we went there, they refused my entry saying I didn't have a reservation. I explained but she just said we're closing in an hour minutes and they were full. I tried to stay positive, but after leaving the hotel I thought about how upset I was, so I wrote them saying it was a disappointing experience with the staff and not having amenities available. The director wrote back and said this was an isolated incident and offered us a room upgrade and dinner, which I thought was nice, but since we live in the US was useless. I asked if they could offer us something else- to which it took weeks to get a response and they're offer was for us to come back so they could make it right. no thanks! read more
