I'm pretty sure that it's quite new though since I had never noticed it there before and have been in the area for many years. This is actually a local bakery with about 10 of them in the local Mons area. The bakery is not very big and very basic, with not really a lot of pastries but quite a choice of different types of bread and of course croissants and my favorite, pain au chocolat. It's open from 7 something on a Sunday (didn't catch the exact time on the door) until 1:30pm so great to go and get some breakfast on the weekend. Oh, there is also a little coffee machine there too.

I usually settle for a very creamy eclair with strawberries although you will be spoiled for choice. On top of the pastries and selection of cakes, they also have some really delicious Belgian chocolates for sale. If your sweet tooth hasn't kicked in yet, you can also just get some bread and even some sandwiches. Sure everything is delicious but having been to many Belgian bakeries, I find that this one is probably one of the least expensive as well.

It is small but well worth the visit; you can purchase bread, apple juice, cheese, chocolates, beers and wine. All local, nothing was further than Mons. The owner speaks english and was very helpful! His store is open on Saturdays from 2pm-6pm and on SUNDAYS that's right, Sundays from 8am-11am. So he is convenient. M-F he does close at 1:30 and re-opens at 3pm. Overall this shop is perfect and exactly what our town needed.

During a recent visit to Belgium, we had the opportunity to stop into this wonderful Italian store…read more I found the selection of items in this store in the small town of Quaregnon simply outstanding. My husband and I spent a good amount of time admiring the Italian wares - everything from espresso makers to pastas to meats to desserts with a great selection of Italian wines and the prettiest bottle of Sambuca I have ever seen all at a reasonable price. We came away with wine of course - who can turn down Amarone, Barolo and Brunello from an authentic Italian store. None made it back to the states, but instead were shared with family in Belgium. All were delicious and quite worth the price in my opinion. My husband also found Borsci - a liqueur he had not had since leaving Italy. That also made it's way into our bag. I found it to be reminiscent of sweetened tree bark, but he enjoyed it immensely and I am sure it brought back his memories of living in Naples. Total bill for three great wines, Borsci and a bag of bruschetta chips was less than 125 Euro. I will visit again when I am in the area. Next time I might have to splurge on the pretty bottle of Sambuca (and I don't even like the licorice flavor).

Colruyt is said to be the cheapest place to shop in Belgium for food and that other stuff that you…read moresometimes need. Overall the deals are better than the other two big discount stores - Aldi and Lidl. There was a Colruyt on this spot but was torn down and rebuilt. This is the new one and I was really looking forward to going here because I loved the other one. The main improvement that could be seen from the other side was the fact that they now had parking under the building. When I got inside and looked around I was not impressed. Well, I wasn't unimpressed because it pretty much looked just like the last one, the same warehouse style shelves with tons of cans and boxes and bottles and such on the shelves. The wine selection, which was pretty good before, was still pretty good. I particularly liked the couple aisles of beers - many different ones to choose from both Belgian and foreign. Food wise, you can get just about everything here. The "cold" room is a favorite where fruits, vegetables and cheeses are kept, as well as different types of yougurt-y dessert and meats. There were also some free samples of the Danone yogurts. As a matter of fact, you can go to that store and have lunch if you are that desperate. There was free soup, free coffee, free olives, free cheeses, free wine, free orange slices and also chunks of fresh pineapple. .A fun and filling place to shop if you're in the area.

The best thing about this supermarket is it's location, because there are several other stores around, so you can park your car, do your shopping, and then head to another store. The prices are reasonable and the selection of products is decent. My favorite part of the store is the alcohol section in the back; well, the wine section really, where they have a pretty decent selection of the grape drinks.

We stopped in Brussels on a hot day and this was #4 of our chocolate places. This was the only shop that warned us about it not being the best temperature outside for the chocolate, and offered to keep it for us until closing time while we ate our dinner out in the village. 5 stars.
