When you first arrive there is a beautiful lit entrance way that makes you feel like you're part of a fairytale story. Once inside the restaurant, you immediately get a sense of a homely feeling. I came with a group of 6 and we were seated at a rectangular table. Luckily one of our companions spoke and read Italian and helped us translate the menu (which is only offered in Italian). We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees which were all superb. I tried the Americana pasta dish, octopus salad, antipasto, fish, etc etc. all delicious! I think the best part was the never ending desserts.. The waiters come around with a cart and you choose which dessert you want off the cart. I got the candied pear. Some people got the tiramisu (which was a bit soggy that day). They also serve you fruits. I mean BOWLS of fruits. Whatever is available they just give you the whole bowl and you take as much as you want. We had grapes, lychee, oranges, etc. after you finish that they come and give you BOWLS and JARS of candy. They just dump it right on your table. The waiter was kind enough to give us take away bags so we could save some candy for later. During the whole 3 hour meal, the big Chef himself, Chef Valentino, would come around and greet his guests. He came out about 3x which was cool! He interacts and jokes around with you which made the whole experience excellent. Come with a fun group! I highly recommend this restaurant. Notes: -there's wifi -make reservations -say hi to Valentino the chef! -come hungry and share your dishes

I havebeen to a few Italian restaurants in Geneva Switzerland and by far this one is the best. The fresh fruit at the end of the meal is delicious. The fruit is from the owners garden. The sauces and flavors are exquisite.

Since this place only had 3 French reviews, I wanted to write a comprehensive English one for non-French speakers so they can also enjoy this gem. Located in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois by the France/Switzerland border on the France side, La Table a Raclette specializes in fondues. Their options include raclette, reblonchonade, savoie, suisse, etc. For non dairy options, there are many meat items like hamburger, tartare, steak, salmon and escargot. Prices are also very reasonable (much cheaper than Geneva less than 15 minutes away). Our total was less than 50 euros despite ordering way too much food and drinks: ***decent wine list. We got local savoie wine and champagne for only 3-4 euros per glass! ***fondue savoie - I chose this one since it does not require a minimum of 2 people. A generous amount of 3 cheeses (comte, beaufort, gruyere), 7 huge fingerling potatoes, and a large basket of baguette pieces. Needless and sad to say, I only ate a third of my food. If you do not have a large appetite, this fondue is enough for 2 to eat. ***steak (entrecôte on the menu) with French fries, garlic green beans - there are 2 size options (300g, 500g). I think the 300g one is equivalent to about 10oz which I personally find enough to eat. Their medium rare is a true steakhouse medium rare with pink in the middle ***like typical French restaurants, you start with a basket of sliced baguette ***we also had small salads which were very necessary amongst the heap of bread, potatoes, cheese and meats All of our servers were very friendly but we only spoke French to them so I am not sure about their English speaking abilities. If you do not have dietary restrictions or many questions, knowing minimal French should be fine to order a great meal though. The restaurant itself is a quaint chalet style with a great terrace. Tldr; I HIGHLY recommend stopping by this gem on the border!

October brings out the "hunt menu" which was heavy on Red Deer, Rae Deer, rabbit, and pheasant. Many dinner items are cooked in the open chimney fire, which reminded me of how steaks are cooked in Argentina. An impressive wine selection, with the majority of the wines being either French or Swiss. We were a group of six and the service was wonderful. We shared a bit of everything. Several colleagues ordered the fillet de perch and it was so well presented and flavored. I ordered the Red Deer fillets, cooked on the open chimney fire. It came with root vegetables and a salad. It was an absolute incredible flavor and presentation. One of our party ordered the rabbit stew and that, too was incredibly done. Oh and the homemade shoe-string french fries that accompanied the filet de perch was truly a work of art--they arrived in these wonderful, small, silver cups. La Huchette will not disappoint you and will be in your top ten restaurants--that is a fact and you'll have to try it to believe it. Make a reservation. We arrived when it opened at 7PM for our reservation and by 8PM the place was packed. I will definitely return when I'm back in Geneva.
