Enough armored horses for a family of 4!

Gorgeous animals, all restored wooden antiques made by the celebrated Charles I.D. Looff, except for a replica lion in honor of LeRoy King himself. 4 rows wide. Almost all jumpers, except for alternating outside horses. Stunning and intricate details. Lots of mirrors to catch the light. Classic carousel music, albeit pre-recorded. Each row has a different theme, and some rows are all the same non-horse animal (camel, goat, or even giraffe, which is uncommon to find as a jumper). Unusual large chariot with seating on all 4 sides facing its center, looks like it could seat around 8 people comfortably. The staff are nice, and may even dress up for the part and be knowledgeable about the carousel. Nice indoor viewing area with seats. Pleasant breeze when the ride is in motion since multiple doors/windows are open. Not the fastest but definitely not the slowest, and the breeze helps. Even when the ride is closed, it's very easy to admire through the large, clean glass walls, which also help the carousel appear well lit for photos. Only down sides are that it isn't open Mondays through Thursdays even during summer, and several of the animals have visible wear down to the wood on the ears and other places. Public transportation highly recommended over parking.

Today, I took the family to the Leroy King Carousel, part of the Children's Creativity Museum which is such an amazing activity for children and families in San Francisco. The carousel is across the city Target and near the Moscone Center. The carousel is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only. For families who are members of the Children's Creativity Museum, they receive a discount on carousel tickets. Tickets are normally $5.00 per ride, but, if you visit the museum or are a member, tickets are $3.00. Each ticket is good for one (1) ride on the carousel. The rides last for about 3 minutes. No matter if you love the carnival or are just a kid at heart, this is a great family friendly activity!

So fun. My 11 month old niece loved it, and they were nice enough to give us a ride, even though it was technically the last one of the day.

For us, the $100 was well-spent on one adult and two children. The event started with the Easter Bunny greeting every attendee and handing children a basket for the egg hunt. Breakfast included pastries, pancakes, bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and nearly every non-alcoholic breakfast/brunch drink under the sun. All attendees got unlimited Merry-go-round rides, which continued even after the event ended at 11am and the Merry-go-round opened to the public. Jenbert Jr. 2 loved the Merry-go-round and didn't want to get off-- and since she was unlimited, she didn't have to! The Easter egg hunt was very well-organized, with lots of eggs for even wobbly toddlers to find. The employees were good about making sure that there were lots of eggs for everyone. Jenbert Jr. 1 & 2 are still raving over the goodies that were in their baskets. Finally, there were a bunch of fun Easter-themed inflatables with bunnies, chicks, and even a Scooby-Doo with Bunny ears and a carrot! And let's not forget about the photo-op with the Easter Bunny! I'd bring back JJ1 & JJ2 next year, it was money well-spent and a very well-put-together event.

I absolutely love this farm!…read more I went for the first time at the beginning of the summer, and I've been back two more times since then! It's a great place to go with your kids, by yourself, or for small meetups. One of the reasons I enjoy this farm is that it's FREE, including parking. We were a bit bummed when we went as a group and saw that feeding the animals is no longer an option, but that information is posted on the website, so I'm not going to fault them for something we didn't double-check. You can brush the goats, so if you're hoping for your little ones to have a close interaction, that's always an option. It's a small farm, so you can walk through it pretty quickly, but there's so much space surrounding the farm that I would honestly plan to bring a blanket if the weather permits and have a picnic. They also have a park, and I would recommend checking out the building. I can't remember the name... I think it's the Nature Area? But they have some cool stuff inside.

It's exactly what they call it, a "little farm" but perfect for the toddlers and younger kids!…read more We wanted to get the kids out of the house and do something that didn't require spending a lot of money and what better then free? It took us 30 minutes to wrap around the whole farm, we visited previously with my son's school on a field trip and it did seem like there were less animals. Same kinds, just less in general. The cows were being washed by what I think were volunteers (younger kids) so my kids didn't really get to see them up close which was the part they were most excited about so it was a bit of a bummer. The goats were uninterested so brushing wasn't an option since they were so far back Chickens and bunnies mind their own business but super cute to look at. Overall, the animals don't seem to care much about the people and keep their distance OR we happen to come on a bad day and they were overwhelmed with all the volunteers (I sure was) I check the website so I totally knew and understand about feeding the animals not being a thing anymore (so I don't get how people blame the farm when it's a quick search to check) BUT they should consider closing or posting a notice when having younger volunteers at the farm learning and taking up all the space and animals. We genuinely didn't get to enjoy them at all because the kids inside the enclosure with them keeping them farther away or just busy in general. Well possibly come back again before summer is up and hope the animals are a bit more active/social lol
