My love bug toddler enjoying a beautiful day at his favorite park in the city!
Noelle J.

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2015 Lafayette playground is our go to spot when we're in the San Francisco neighborhood of Pacific Heights. Parking is limited on the perimeter of the park but we're fortunate we can walk there and not have to worry about parking. The toddler area of Lafayette playground was not the nicest years ago but the renovations since are nothing short of spectacular. The playground is enclosed so you don't have to worry about your little one escaping. One of my favorite things about the playground is - 'no tanbark' I detest tanbark because I'm afraid of splinters, I'm a big believer of the firm foam instead. Ian loves running around the playground. He enjoys the swings and the orange spinning ride. When we were there last Ian and a couple of kids were having a blast on the orange spinning ride. There are other parts of the playground that we tread with caution - they have these long metal poles that the bigger kids like the slide down (definitely not toddler friendly) and the slide is a tad steep. Unfortunately, the water sensory stream (almost similar to the one at Monterey Bay Aquarium) is dry and not working- probably left unfilled due to our current drought conditions. This is a great family friendly playground- clean and well maintained! I highly recommend this park to those with kids- bring a picnic lunch and get ready for a day of fun :) Noelle's Notes Our favorite park in the city! Enclosed for the little ones safety Family friendly

Playground is a block away from Haas Lillianthal house. My daughter's 3rd grade class went there for a field trip then walked to the park to have lunch. Park has a great view. Nice greenery & palm trees around. Clean bathrooms with working dryers. Super cold water & dryer. On a sunny day its warm, but in the shade its 20 degrees colder. People walk their exotic dogs.. we saw a couple of briards! That was a first for us. Lots of toddlers. But watch out for the field trips around 11-1:30 weekdays. Otherwise its pretty chill most times.

nice playground, but difficult to keep an eye on multiple smaller children...

Whoever designed this playground does probably not have smaller children. If you come on your own with small children, it is hard to keep an eye on them because of the massive structure in the middle of the playground. I do appreciate the clean restroom and the gates.

A pretty spot for a playground -- it's really nestled into the trees. If your kid's not into climbing, there's not too much for him/her to do here. You will see very stylish children and their very stylish nannies here. Public bathrooms are nearby and in good condition. Warning: It's a hike waaaay up the hill to get to this playground!

While we were waiting for food, we came here and my daughter got to play. This playground is incredible. It has a small play set on one side for toddlers and on the another side was for the older kids. The playground had a foam like ground which made it safe in my opinion. The playground is big enough to spread out and there is a sign with a capacity limit even though technically there is no one there to enforce it. Everyone still follows the rules I'd say. The play ground is very cool and has something that every kid would like . We can't wait to come to this park every time .

The ground is soft rubber flooring, which makes it safer for children to run and play. The park is surrounded by modern buildings and open spaces, making it a beautiful place for photos and family outings . Many families bring their kids here to play and burn off energy. Pros * Modern playground equipment * Suitable for different age groups * Sandbox and water play area * Clean and spacious environment Cons * No restroom available in the park * Parking can be difficult during busy hours Still a great place to bring kids if you are visiting the Mission Bay area! We also had his behavioral therapist with us and she spoke highly of this playground. They have a tiny area for smaller kids under 5 which includes a sandbox with toys folks in the area "donated" or left behind. My little boy was in love with the sandbox area. There's another huge play structure for bigger kids and lots of benches and shaded areas for parents and nannies to hang out and unwind while the kids play in the area. Bigger kids can also play in the basketball court. What's neat about this playground is that there are tons of toys such as bikes, balance bikes, toy structures that parents either left behind or donated. My little boy loved playing with some of those toys. There's also a multi purpose room that you can probably rent out for birthday parties etc. As well as a decent bathroom for folks to use while they're in the playground. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. It's a wonderful playground. The only negative is that it can get pretty crowded and sometimes parking is difficult but overall definitely a great place to visit.

I've had the Salvadoran coffee pop up (can't remember the name) and what coffee Vietnamese iced coffee (yum!). Restrooms at the park are very clean, however my son has a sensitivity to noise so the bathrooms in the Sports Basement are where we go as they are quieter. Sports basement is a great place to checkout too. They have bikes you can rent for the family (the ones that ride like 6 people) and so on. Definitely check this place out when you're in the city!

The Presidio is such a cool part of SF, and this is a great spot to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and catch up with friends or family. The East Meadow is also near the recently opened Mess Hall, which makes it a convenient location if you're planning to spend a little more time in the area. You can keep things simple and just hang out, or plan ahead for a gathering. There are picnic tables available to rent, and you can even reserve part or all of the East Meadow! Definitely something to keep in mind if you're looking for an outdoor spot to bring a group together. What I like about this area is that the setting itself is such a big part of the experience. You have space to gather and those classic San Francisco views right around you. Whether you're planning a picnic or just looking for somewhere to enjoy an afternoon, the East Meadow is worth checking out!
