Wow, I'm surprised that Lockside has never been reviewed. They've been there forever and I know…read morethey're popular. I've probably been to Lockside at least a dozen times over the years, but there was a big gap between 2012 and 2018 when I was out of the province. I can honestly say that the place is exactly the same in 2018 as it was in 2012, although I imagine they'd disagree. Lockside is an interesting eclectic store with a wide variety of unique home decor items, furniture, clothing, and gifts. But be warned, it is NOT cheap. That place is on the high-end side when it comes to prices. Even their t-shirts are expensive. Over the years I've mainly browsed at Lockside because their stuff is too expensive to buy. But I have purchased a few small items now and again. The most frequent item I've bought is an ice cream cone! They serve Kawartha Dairy ice cream (the best ever) and they have a lovely outdoor area to sit and savour your ice cream while you watch the boats come and go from the Young's Point lock. The ice cream and location makes up for the fact that they're too expensive for the average person. You walk away thinking, "well, at least I got a good ice cream cone"! :-)
