I have stayed at this Holiday Inn 3 times in the last 2 years and each time I am surprised about how bad the facilities are. Firstly, the window always sound like they are open and are very drafty. You really need to keep the radiator on, even if its not that cold outside. The TV's date back to the 1990's and there is not even a main light in the rooms. So when you are in the room in the evening, there is only a dim corner light available to light the room, which is not very nice! There are two good things, firstly Breakfast is included, which is always nice and secondly there is free wi-fi available for all guests, you just have to ask. That is very useful I must say! Overall, its really not the nicest place to stay!

The venue itself is really stunning, it's well kept and clean, really worth booking an event here. I've only attended events, and not stayed at the hotel overnight so can't comment on the rooms but I was very impressed with this place as a venue. As you would expect, the drinks are pricey, but they usually are at these types of events anyway.

The service is excellent and the owner/landlord is probably one of the most polite you will ever meet. He is proud of his beers and keeps them in superb condition. This is quite a large pub and is also a hotel. Its just on the edge of the town centre and has passing trade as well as a more regular crowd at weekends. It isnt the Ritz but it is comfortable and retains a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The pub holds beer festivals at least once a year and has some good food available to compliment the occasions. I am not sure if food is available at other times though. I would recommend a visit here!

Before I even arrived, they charged my card twice and wouldn't issue a credit. Once inside, there was soap scum (yellow/orange) on the title grout and mold (visible and smelling) on the shower curtain/liner so it was clear that these rooms are never really cleaned. We didn't get shampoo as part of the bathroom amenities so be sure to bring some from home. While looking for an outlet to charge my phone, I found a fairly surprising electrical wiring job for the lamp that would definitely not be to code in the States. The good news for you is that you get to read this and they won't know. When I told them about my issues and mentioned that they must not be uncommon based on the Foursquare review, I was told that they don't follow every little web site.

This is just next to the interchange so it is very convenient. There is a pub and a restaurant that isnt attached to the hotel but in the same building. The hotel is nice and clean and tidy and the staff are lovely and friendly but there isnt that many of them so they are very busy.
