I informed the person at the counter that I had no intention of repairing anything else on such an old vehicle and that I was aware there were numerous problems. Never was I told I would be charged for the diagnostic whether I used the shops services or not. I've only ever been charged when I did not use their services at any business. I'm happy to pay for someone's time and efforts when I do not choose to use their business for needed services. I have never been charged when I have it would have been nice to have been told I was going to be charged $100 either way.
