Walked into store you can hear yelling and screaming. The doctor and theresptionist was yelling at the customer about their child being over charged. Staff very rude to the customer. Sounded very unprofessional sounded like a family atmosphere the doctor was calling his mother who was yelling at the patient. Did not be long in a high class mall. Sounded like it should be on a street corner argument not a professional doctors office. read more

10/10 service from Lindsey and team. On a pinch during vacation and they got us contacts ordered and trial lenses in place after giving them a prescription from our local doctor. So helpful and kind over the phone & even more so in person. read more

Enter the store about a week ago was greeting like every establishment. Hello they just yell like every store you walk into nowadays . I was walked around and got my own tray had a couple of glasses in the tray. Another customer walked in what I assume was the manager took those customers I turned around another employee acknowledge me because he saw the look on my face . Said how can I help you gave me all the special and he actually stopped working with his customers .At that point, I was annoyed an knew that I was gonna spend a good amount of money in the store because the prices of the glasses I was looking at plus my insurance doesn't cover my needs. I was annoyed . I asked the young man who helped me where can I leave this tray . He said I can take them and I proceeded to take my business to the Lenscrafter on Del Mabry. read more

I live at Westchase Lens crafter is just up the road from me at citrus Park Mall. So I decided to go in there cause I need to get glasses so I walked in. I was told welcoming which is pretty common in any establishment in Tampa these days. after that I wasn't acknowledged .I got a tray had a couple of glasses I was interested in. I heard what I think was the manager which her name is Angie another customer they came in and she ask how can I help you when I turned around after being there for about 25 minutes with a tray of glasses and other associates came up to me because he saw the look on my face his name was fab I appreciated him. He asked me what I was looking for, and he answered all my questions gave me all the specials while he stop working with his customers to attend me. His customers service's is excellent . After a minute I felt some kind of way for my treatment .I knew that I was going to drop a good amount of money . So decided to drive up 15 minutes up the road to the other lens crafters at DelMabry an give them my money $$$ read more

I really liked this store. My salesperson was great! He helped me find the perfect frame for my glasses. I would recommend him to everyone. I thought the store had a really nice selection of frames and good prices especially for having them done in one day! My prescription changed after many years and I had to have them right away to drive. Unfortunately I don't have eye insurance but thought the pricing wasn't bad. Definitely will look for my new sunglasses there. read more

I have never had such a horrible experience at an eye doctor as I did at this LensCrafters location today. My husband and I had appointments at 11:20am and 11:40am, respectively. Without any explanation or communication at all from the front desk, my husband wasn't seen until after 12:30p. Dr. C was rude and the doctors staff wasn't much nicer to interact with. A simple routine exam was split into 3 parts and ended up taking over an hour. I will say, the sales staff at the front of the store was kind and helpful. But we had issues there as well. We shopped and picked out frames before our appointments and left them with the sales associate only to come back and be told they were all put away and have incorrect ones brought to us. This resulted in us having to look through the store again, with dialated eyes, to find them again. In the past, I have spent an 1-1.5 hours at other locations, to shop, have the exam, be fitted, pay, and be done. Today, this experience took over 4 hours. I would rather drive the extra distance to another store than come back to this location and I recommend the same to everyone else. read more

Dr Christie Hartsfield at LensCrafters citrus park mall in Tampa does not understand covid 19. She said that although she asks if patients have had the flu vaccine, she does not for covid, as it does not prevent the disease. I explained as a middle aged immunocompromised person, as an RN whose career was cut short and changed forever due to covid, as a woman who lost a beloved family member to the disease, I was offended by her response. It reeked of evangelical nationalism and listening to Fox News and Facebook instead of science. She proudly said that "it wasn't on the form so she didn't have to ask!" I explained I had lost faith in her. I said that I only needed a contact lens exam because I had just seen an ophthalmologist. She triumphantly announced that it was Florida law that she had to do the whole exam, regardless--and charge me nearly 300 dollars. And then said the contacts I wanted who the ophthalmologist said I could wear, were not available after she at first said they were. Was her ego retaliating for the covid concerns I explained? And: Why, oh why, does our state of Florida mandate for me to have TWO normal exams to get contacts, but does not mandate a screening of the deadly covid virus? Also, DOCTOR Hartsfield (as if!?) let me clue you in that although the vaccine may not prevent disease, it prevents DEATH for people before their time. And horrific hospital blockages to care--that also causes DEATH. Something that Christie Hartsfield DO simply shrugged off as if it meant nothing. For shame. Christie -You better pray for God to give you a brain that thinks for itself and doesn't harm others instead of your holier than thou BS. read more

I will have to say that after reading the Yelp reviews on this location, I became very concerned with my choice. I am happy to say that the experience was very good. The doctor that is located on the premises was able to take me quickly and accommodate my schedule. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Once I was done with the doctor visit, they escorted me over to the LensCrafters side of the shop where I was introduced to Kala. She was incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful with everything from frames, fit, styles and most importantly insurance. She saved me quite a bit of cash. Kala and her staff are the reason I will highly recommend this location again and again. read more

It just so happened that my exam day fell on a day when my kids were off school, so I did not want to get dilated so I could go to the driving range right after, but the lady behind the counter was kind enough to tell me it is the LAW and I MUST get dilated...I had no choice! read more

* Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! * I wish I had read Yelp reviews prior, shame on me. If there was a no star option it would be perfect for this provider. I called and asked if they were a VSP provider and was told they were. I scheduled my boyfriend's appointment. They were 40 mins behind schedule. The Dr was less than personable. The exam process was cumbersome, back and forth between multiple rooms many times; not at all efficient. After that mess my boyfriend was told the Dr was an out of network provider and that he needed to pay now and hope for insurance reimbursement later. Overall the experience and service was awful not even close to being worth the money. Will definitely not got back here again. I look forward to 2017 finding a local, do right for the patient eye doctor in this area. read more

I just moved here from Iowa and I always have gone to Lens Crafters to get my contacts because their process is usually very fast and they know what they are doing. I was looking online for the closest Lens Crafters to me and I found this one at the Citrus Park Mall. I called early to make an appointment and when I got their, the receptionist was very friendly. The doctor took me back after about an hour and a half sitting there and he acted like he had no idea what he was doing. He then told me that the eyeglasses part of their store was directed by Lens Crafters to but he is not and he is his own practice. I had to do an eye exam and he asked me what my prescription was and I didn't know. I told him what I thought it was but I couldn't remember so he just went with that. When we got to the process of the contacts, I decided I wanted to go with colored because I haven't had those in a while. I was trying on which colors I liked and he was acting so annoyed that I was taking my time to decide which ones I liked. I finally decided which color I wanted and I paid for them and they told me it should take about 2 weeks. After waiting for a month and 2 weeks they finally call me to tell me my contacts have came in and I can come get them. I go get them and they aren't the right color, so I go back in and tell them and they said no that's the right color. So I'm just like okay, I bring them home and try them on. First of all, they were not the color I told him I wanted, second of all I COULD NOT EVEN SEE OUT OF THEM. It was like the color of the contacts were around the pupil and there was shadows everywhere I just couldn't even see. So I call them and it was taking forever to talk to the doctor so I decide to go back in. I tell him that I know these are the wrong color and that I cannot see out of the contacts. First he tells me that the color I wanted originally was not available in my prescription, which he did not tell me the day I bought them. He just went with my prescription and found the color that was close to the one I originally wanted. Now when I told him I couldn't see out of them, he told me I should have told him that when I tried them out originally. First of all that wasn't even the brand or color I tried on! And I told him this and I also told him the pair I tried on originally, I could see out of. I told him I wanted a refund, this whole process was just horrible. I never ever have dealt with this when getting contacts. Overall the experience was not good. I usually don't believe a lot of reviews, I like to see for myself but I really wish I would have listened to the reviews with this particular place. I would recommend anyone to go to an actual Lens Crafters eye doctor or just anyone else but this man. Also I have had yelp for a while and never wrote reviews, but I had to with this place. I have never had an appointment here where I wasn't made to wait at least 45 minutes after the time to be seen. It doesn't matter what I come in for, contacts, a follow up - always late, always rude about it. The staff seem friendly when you walk in but don't ask questions. The doctors are condescending and don't wait for an answer before talking over you and showing you what a bother you are for being there. read more

Very helpful with assisting our son in picking out frames, navigating us through the process to ensure maximum savings with insurance and using our benefits. I wouldn't recommend this practice. I have been going to this location on and off for over 5 years - more out of ease and convenience than anything else. I've moved a couple of times and find myself back at this location. Every time I come back to this store I ask myself "why did I come here again"? Time after time the staff seems bothered by a guests presence and incompetent. Wait time is always long. Love the optometrist once you finally get into to see him but not worth all the trouble. I will be driving out of my way to another optometrist. Heck, I've been driving all the way to south Tampa to avoid this store. Save yourself the trouble. read more

Highly disappointed with this location. I came in with my two teenagers to buy glasses for them. I explained these were their first glasses and we needed help finding lower priced frames to use in addition to contact lenses. The female associate repeatedly brought high priced frames and when we asked her opinion of how they looked on my daughter, she continually said "that's what the college students are wearing." We thought she was finding more frames for my kids to look at, but she had begin helping another customer. We left and no one even noticed. I have never written a review for an eyeglasses store as I have had a range of experiences - but the typical one is feeling pushed into something from a strong sales pitch. This is the first time I have not gotten that sense. It seems that Lenscrafter may have adjusted their culture or it just be the excellent general manager of this store but - I had a fantastic experience. The sales team had good taste in recommendations but never shoved anything down my throat. This was also the first store that did not insist that I buy progressive lenses, how refreshing. As mentioned the GM is outstanding , very kind and the whole team overall are very personable and service oriented. I will definitely be back. read more

Wow just horrible experience. Came in and made an appointment for next Saturday. I work during the week so Saturday was the day I could bring my wife. They called during the week to confirm. We arrived a little late and was told we would have to reschedule since they were booked. Said our appointment was tentative until we confirmed and no record we called. Really? No one at all in the waiting room. Staff was completely unhelpful. Said no notes I ever called. Pretty much could care less that I was upset. I've been in customer service for 30 years. Office staff has lousy customer service skills. Find somewhere else and don't waste your time. read more

My son had 10:00am vision appointment and we got there a few minutes early to knock out the paperwork. Vision part of appointment went ok but was told only need to sit in the waiting room for people to dilate for 10 minutes. Well about a half of an hour later we left at 11:10 AM. It should never take over an hour for a vision appointment in my opinion. The doctor got caught up with another patient and she left us hanging. What's MY time worth? We'll only see Dr Cancellari from now on. He seems to run a tight ship. Just an FYI, we did not have time to stick around for his dilated eyes to get checked out. read more

Just going to start with this: The retail section of the store, honestly five stars+ right there... Truly amazing service, but here's why I dropped the rating: "Dr." James Cancellari: This is legitimately the WORST Optometrist you could possibly visit. A few days ago, after a scheduled an appointment, I was told to wait a "few moments." Gladly doing so, I trusted the receptionist, because I had always done my Eye Exams and Contacts at the Dale Mabry LensCrafters, so I expected at least a similar level of service at this location. Boy was I in for a surprise, I ended up waiting one hour and fifteen minutes... And then we did the "pre-exam," (the part where the receptionist takes a few machines and check your eyes "thoroughly" for a good two minutes,) and then I was quickly thrown back out to the waiting room, to await ANOTHER 30 minutes of waiting. The "doctor," if you should call him that, after waiting, is a person who though dresses in a low profile manner, is outrageously cocky, ignorant, and goes high over heels to show that he is better than you. The receptionists also give you the BIGGEST attitude ever. They treat the people waiting like sacks of potatoes and completely slack off on the job. If you ask them for the estimated wait time left, they start giving you some lip, as if they were under tons of stress, (because the way they sit there just checking their Facebooks is a hair-pulling load, and they obviously don't get enough credit for just sitting there...) The store at Citrus Park is very welcoming, the people who work out in the retail section are very professional, very nice, and are overly respectful, but the Optometry section of the location is UTTERLY DISGUSTING. Not only that, but they charge you over $100 to do an eye exam. At the Dale Mabry location I was given one for little over fifty. They completely RIP YOU OFF, make you wait in UTTERLY UNLIVABLE lines, (even with appointment,) and treat you like COMPLETE TRASH. Not only this, the rooms they use, are disgustingly horrid to look at. The actual retail section is very clean, very professional, but the exam rooms the OP uses has holes in the walls, where floor molding has been very obviously ripped from the walls, (that's why there is this gigantic gaping whole that encompasses the whole bottom three inches of the wall,) and the area is very poorly maintained. Feel free to purchase glasses from this location, but NEVER make an appointment with this OP, because HIS staff, including him, is unarguably ignorant, unprofessional, sassy, and condescending. read more

This office is absolutely horrible. Doctor Cancellari is highly conceited and does whatever he can to get you out of his office. He talks down to you so disrespectfully. I had recently gone in for an eye exam and the office receptionist were great except the male receptionist reeked of marijuana. I got taken back only a few minutes after I arrived and did the paper work and got back to were they do the test within 10 minutes but when it got to where the Doctor came in too see you I feel like he didn't even listen to the concerns I had about my eyes. He talked over me every chance he could get and rushed me out of his office to get the next patient in so they wouldn't be here after they closed at 7. Mind you I had a 6 o clock appointment. I have recently decide to work with the other doctor that attends this office and she's amazing compared to him. I most certainly recommend finding somewhere else or waiting for another doctor to be working at the office before you schedule an exam with dr James Cancellari. read more
