Personally, we walked in to get glasses that had old frames and new lens and ask the worker to see if they were in yet. She was on her phone before hand and gave attitude towards the question. Then, as we walked out because we did not like this service, she started to talk back and give major rudeness towards us she was also saying to watch your mouth and not to speak that way with a child around and mind you the child is older.This was the worst experience ever. I also needed bifocals (I have progressive lenses now). After this business double charged our health savings account for the same transaction over a year ago, we decided to return because of a positive experience with one employee in rectifying the situation. Unfortunately, we've had a poor experience again. After contacting me at my cell phone number multiple times to confirm a recent appointment, I was not contacted for over three weeks regarding the delivery of new prescription glasses which should have been delivered in one week. When called, the staff member responding indicated they had called a phone line that was discontinued over six months previously. In a review of our contact information, we requested that the previous number be deleted from the businesses database. We have yet to receive an explanation for the delay or an apology. read more

I've been coming to this lens crafters for a while now and have always had a Pleasant experience. Sometimes it's frustrating when I am in a pinch and need my contacts same day but have to order them due to not have my prescription in stock. They are nice enough to give me a trial pair though so it's appreciated. Covid update: I would like to say that social distancing is enforced here but today the store is so crowded and people are able to walk around and not many are following social distancing protocol. They are not fully sanitizing between customers in the waiting area but are doing so in the exam rooms. Worst place to buy glasses from!!! I came in because my glasses were loose and wanted to get them tightened. They over tightened them to the point the screws are protruding over my glasses and they ended up breaking my glasses. I came in and showed them what they did and they told me that it's broken and need to buy new glasses. My frames were over $300 and are not something I can easily replace. I have been a patient here for years. When I initially became a patient, the service was great. Over the last two years, the staff has changed. It is horrible now. I scheduled my own appointments for a time conveinent for me. I received three calls back to back, WHILE AT WORK, to confirm appointments. Then they texted me multiple times threatening to cancel my appointments because I did not answer in their timeframe. I have NEVER missed appointments in all these years and when I couldnt make it, I canceled in good timing. I called to speak with the manager, Andrew, and he was very rude! He was talking while I was talking and told me the doctor's time is important and they have a lot of patients as if to say that I dont matter! Im spending my money when I choose to visit this store with my business. Not once did he apologize, listen, or try to rectify the issue. He said its policy to HARASS patients via multiple phone calls and texts. They even sent a text AFTER I responded stop via text due to the overwhelming contact from them. I cannot take such disrespect, rudeness, and disregard for myself and my family as patients. I wish that the old staff was still there providing top tier service at the Chicago Ridge location once provided. I need to find the providers at another location because the doctors are excellent! I lost my glasses on my flight from LA to Chicago. I was nearly ready to settle on being Mr. Magoo for the duration of my visit home, but decided against it. Lenscrafters made the process as painless as can be. Javada (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) took the time to track down my insurance information after I spent 25 painstaking minutes trying to get the information myself, but to no avail. She was a trooper and kept her sense of humor throughout the whole ordeal. The doctor was friendly and thorough and even upgraded me to a better quality lens for my dry eyeballs. The employees at this location are very nice. It's very busy every time I've been in so I recommend making your appointment in advance. They've always been helpful and responsive. They stopped doing same-day lenses that was a bummer to find out at the very end of my appointment, but I've always found the staff knowledgeable and friendly. They are very supportive with contacts if you're a newbie like I was. They were patient teaching me and helped me find a good brand that worked with my astigmatism. I gave four stars, because checkout was slightly hectic with how busy they were and I wasn't notified sooner of the one hour lenses program not being available. - These complaints won't taking me to a different place but I was excited to leave with new glasses. I am very disappointed in LensCrafters. They no longer offer same day glasses (which is the only real reason I went there). I called this location and asked if they had the lab on site since the Orland Park location does not. The woman I spoke to stated that they did. I decided to go to this location to order my glasses. The staff that day were very nice and helpful. I chose my frames (great selection compared to Orland Park) and all of my options, paid, and was then told it would be a week until my glasses came it. Fine, I already spent all this time and money, I'll wait. A few days later I received a text message stating my glasses were ready. I went to pick them up and what do you know, they're not there. The lady at the desk was kind of rude about the whole situation. I don't know if she thought I was making it up or what the issue was. I went up to the desk and waited for her to tell me what was going on and she ignored me, then looked at me and said "hi?". I guess her time with me was done. When I'm due for glasses again I won't be coming back. I don't see any benefit to come back to LC. Their reasonably priced frames are becoming less and less, while their designer frames such as Tiffany and Prada are taking over the store. Doctors were good and seemed to be very knowledgeable about their field. Customer service was absolutely terrible and waited over an hour while staff stood around and talked about gas prices and what hours they would be working on Sunday. Came in for a 1200 appointment but a walk-in at 12:40 was taken instead. Just walked out at that point, this place is absolutely unprofessional and overpriced. read more

Terrible experience and I didn't even get service. I called in advance and let them know I would be late and told me it was fine. Upon arriving they told me to reschedule when I called and confirmed that my arrival time was okay. I then was told to wait for two people to get their exams done to be seen, and had to use the restroom in the meantime. The receptionist told me to go to Macy's and to come back around 6:20 to be seen since exams took 20 minutes each. I come back at 6:20 and was told that the doctor left. The other receptionist, or whoever it was, rudely told me "we did NOT tell you to come back at 6:20. We told you to come back right away." So apparently I'm a liar and was offered to re-schedule. Needless to say I will not be going to any LensCrafters nor will I be rescheduling my appointment to be assisted by rude people. read more

Customer service is the worst here. If you have reservations about receiving eye care in the mall, please let that be enough to stop you from experiencing the service here. I was in Miami and accidentally dropped my last set of contacts down the the sink on the day we were to leave for or cruise. I found a opt office down the street from the hotel. They only needed my prescription faxed to get me contacts and out of the door. I arrived at the eye care center at 10am ( my cruise left at 4pm). Pam at the front desk of lens crafters was extremely rude and hand a negative tone from the start of our conversation. She placed me on hold multiple times and kept telling me they were busy with other customers so I would have to wait. When she finally told me she would fax my prescription ( which was never sent), she stated it would take about an hour to fax my prescription. I explained to her my situation again. She didn't care. Eventually I asked to speak with the manger. The manager Shana was just as rude as Pam. I ended up receiving no prescription fax as I sat at the eye doctor in Miami for 4 hours waiting on a prescription that never came. After constant back and forth conversations about the fax, I eventually finally convinced them to give me my prescription over the phone. Which took an additional 30 minutes or so of being on hold again for her to look up my prescription. What a head ache and a nightmare. I will not support a health care business who could not send over a fax when I REALLY needed it and gave me attitude over it. SAVE YOUR MONEY, go independent. Not to mention they are very unorganized and have poor customer service every time we are there in store. Never go to the Lens Crafters in Chicago Ridge. Back in April I had an issue with my contact lenses (left eye). They found that the box was defaulted and agreed to send them back for a replacement. I had to be the one to follow up numerous of times, they seemed clueless each time I called ONLY to tell me they are still on order. It's going on TWO months for my replacement. I don't care if I have to drive another 10 miles not to return to that store. Terrible!!!!! read more

My husband and I went in to LensCrafters to get glasses he needed two pairs I needed one and we wanted to get a pair for my son that were recommended. We picked out some frames we got our exams the bill was 700 plus dollars after insurance. I thought that was insane. We took out one pair of glasses for my husband and the bill was still over 300 out of pocket. They told us glasses would be in within 2 weeks first pair came in 3 weeks later second and third paris came in a month later. I went in to try on my pair of glasses prescription was completely wrong after waiting outside to get in which I completely understand everything was a mess I returned the glasses. I didn't want to wait another three to four weeks I thought they were way over priced the customer service was ok under the circumstance but everything was not what we expected. I ordered glasses from the Chicago Rodge Mall's LensCrafters over two weeks ago, and it was literally the worst experience I have ever encountered. They ordered me the wrong glasses. When does that ever happen! I thought they just follow the prescription that your eye doctor gives you. Well not this LensCrafters, the decided that I needed bifocals on a prescription that didn't warrant it. Then they said they would offer a rush on the reorder. I did get a call last Tuesday that they would be in by Friday. Were they?!? NOPE! Now it is Monday and still no glasses. So they tell me know that reoders take 7-10 business days, but that's not what they said originally. Still no glasses, but they're going to call me tomorrow to let me know what going on after they call the lab. They do not know what they are doing. Their customer service is horrific. I went to this place because was in my insurance coverage and also is near to my address. I went on my day off the eye doctor was very nice the problem started when the guy who name is Alex attended me told me that i can get a second pair of glasses free. I thought it was a nice a idea and i thought the insurance going to cover that too. This guy he never explained what my insurance cover and what not cover. I ended paying for my glasses $681.00 and i asked him why i paying too much and he told me that it was cheaper paying my glasses with out insurance. When i went to home and explained my husband he told me let call insurance and will see what the insurance covered. The insurance told him that is too much money they charged for my glasses. So i went back with my husband to the store and we talked with Jasmin and she fixed everything and i payed just for my transition coverage the rest insurance pay for all. My advice is be sure to know what insurance cover for your glasses for nobody take advantage of you. This is my worst experience buying glasses in this place. read more

Went there July 7th for exam and glasses and contacts for myself and my son. Had an 11:00 And an 11:20 appointment. Literally didn't get out of there until 3:30!!!! Spent $1258 on 2 pair of glasses and one 6 month supply of contacts and one 1 year supply of contacts. Ridiculously over priced!! Then when I received my contacts a week later (shipped to my house), THEY WERE THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION!!! I Called, they said they would immediately put in the correct prescription and I should receive the correct contacts soon. It's now July 21st and still no contacts. So I call and rude person on phone tells me that my contacts are there, in the store and I need to pick them up. I don't think so. Not my fault the original order was put in wrong and why when they put in the correct order, would they decide to have the contacts shipped to their store and not to my house? I've been going to this store for 25 years. I'm done. They just lost myself and my 2 kids as customers!! Terrible customer service! Ridiculously over priced! Unprofessional employees!! Went there on a Sunday afternoon, told me lens in an hour. waited around for an hour and was told oops, wont be ready until tomorrow. "Miscommunication" according to the manager.
