They have parking around back with a walk up window - although you can go into the store I believe if you'd like, but the window is super convenient! It also has a little covering if it's raining like when I went to keep you dry. They have a menu with the daily flavors posted out front. It looks like they also have cookies, bars and other pastries available. But for my first time here, I wanted to go for some cupcakes. The girl who took my order was super sweet. I got one salted caramel and one cookie dough. They aren't cheap but honestly most desserts in ATL aren't so this was pretty average. The cupcakes were so tasty! Super fresh. I'd love to come back to try more flavors and their other treats! Also, this place is women owned which makes it even better. The server was very nice, especially because I couldn't make up my mind lol, & even told me the story of how "Lenox cupcakes" got its name. Stumbled upon this place when looking for some cupcakes in the area. Then I realized I'd actually been before and was excited to try them again. The ordering/pickup area is in the back facing the parking lot. The cupcakes are moist and the perfect size. Also priced appropriately. I like that they're not huge cupcakes with a ton of icing. The key lime was a standout for me. I want another one right now! Overpriced Dry Cupcakes. I got 6 cupcakes; Red Velvet, Pumpkin Spice, Key Lime, Cookies N Cream, Salted Caramel, and White Chocolate. The Keylime was by far the worst I've ever had. The Red Velvet was probably the best out of those flavors. However, the cupcakes themselves were very dry. Plus they were stacked with frosting, and it was litttle too much in my opinion. I happened to stumble upon this off the beaten path place and decided to indulge my sweet tooth. The store's interior is unexpected for a cupcakery - it's very spacious and rustic with exposed brick and dark surroundings. It's not the typical cookie-cutter layout with bright lights and modern decor. Instead, it has a unique, charming atmosphere. I browsed their options and selected two to try...a white chocolate raspberry cupcake and a salted caramel cupcake. Of the two, the salted caramel was my favorite - I love the salty/sweet juxtaposition of the flavors. The white chocolate raspberry was ok - even with a raspberry-filled center...it left me unenthusiastic. Overall, the cupcakes weren't particularly impressive. If I had to pinpoint the reason, I'd chalk it up to the actual cake part - it may sound crazy but it reminded me of a cornbread! The taste, texture & consistency just seemed more like something I'd have at my grandmother's house with Sunday dinner. So yeah...not the best medium for a dollop of salted caramel frosting on top! Aside from the texture, the frosting and cake flavor options were average. OK! So my bf and I recently saw this cupcake shop pop up in downtown Chamblee so we decided to swing by. We were unaware of store hours and actually pulled up right at 5 as they were closing. The lady working was nice enough to sell us cupcakes through the walk up window. We ordered two cupcakes- chocolate birthday cake and key lime. They both looked SO GOOD but Both of us were disappointed to say the least. The batter of the birthday cake cupcake was lackluster in flavor. It lacked the sweetness factor. The icing on top looked good but tastes VERY buttery(like sick to your stomach buttery). As for the lime, it was a little more sweet but it still lacked the bite of genuine lime flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the icing either. I am giving this place 3 stars mostly based on the presentation of the cupcakes and the customer service. Its a bummer because it would've been a nice local cake shop to visit. Better luck next time! read more

Sadly didn't get a pic of these... I tried the choc chip cookie dough, birthday, Oreo, and red velvet cupcakes. The choc chip cookie dough cake itself actually tasted a lot like an actual cookie, which I liked. All of the cakes were fluffy, but sadly the only frosting I liked was the cream cheese on the red velvet. Yes, Atlanta...we have yet another seller of cupcakes in our fair city. Why??? Located in Phipps Plaza in what use to be the Gourmet Dog Food store....next to Belks on the Second level....lots of unused space in this store...and I asked...all baking is done on the premsis. As I;m leaving the mall, a security guard says....do u want a cupcake...first thought...if they are so good, why is he giving them away...he says that the owner gives the extras left over at closing to the various stores and security instead of throwing them away...and not being the kinda gurl to turn down a cupcake, I reply...YES! oooooooooo.....I can taste the cavity forming as I bit into it...These cupcakes are tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet.... The next day...one of my facebook friends send me their "secret" word, which Lenox Cupcakes post on their facebook page daily to get a 1/2 priced cupcake. They ask that you come in and quietly and let the clerks know the word as not to give it away to anyone who isnt their facebook friend. LOVE this place - definitely the best cupcakes in the ATL! I wandered into Lenox after lunching at Southbound one day. Y'all - push in the door - push it hard! - because that door sticks and you'll think they are closed. The room is very open, a terrific space for a bridal shower, baby shower, or kids cupcake decorating party. There is a small cupcake with that day's offerings of cupcakes inside, and MaryAnn is usually working the counter. She is so sweet! What makes these cupcakes sooooooooo great? Two things: amazing cake and terrific frosting. I've tried several of the cupcakes, but always come back to vanilla, although the chocolate is really good too. The cake is always moist, not so sweet, and just the perfect amount. The frosting-to-cupcake ratio is very in-check here, making this an easy cupcake to bite into and enjoy. MaryAnn told me the frosting they use (Italian crème?), but whatever it is, its soft, delicate, not-too-sweet, and creamy. My favorite is the vanilla birthday cake, followed closely by the chocolate birthday cake, followed closely by lemon. My favorite are the mini-cupcakes, which are always a hit when I bring them into the office. They are two-bite cupcakes, but dressed up just as fancy and taste just as delicious as their bigger cousins. She doesn't have them all the time, but when she does, I buy her out. I recently discovered Lenox Cupcakes and was eager to try it out. I decided to stop by today and pick up 6 for the office. As many have said, they are located on the 2nd floor, right next to Belk at Phipps. I was greeted and helped out by the nicest lady. I don't know if it was the lighting or the decoration but the placed seemed very cold and distant. The cupcake themselves were just alright in comparison to other places in town. The cake wasn't very moist, and the frosting was way too sweet in my opinion. I had a feeling that the cupcake weren't fresh because some of the frosting were crusty. This is what I got: Red Velvet: The frosting had so much sugar that you feel the granules. Strawberry: Scream artificial flavors. Caramel Vanilla: Sweet! Chocolate Dream: Didn't taste Chocolate Whisper: This one tasted like it had no sugar. I scheduled a work lunch at Southbound and noticed that Lenox Cupcakes was right next door when looking at Google Maps for directions. I LOVE cupcakes. So after lunch, I made my way over. I was very surprised when I walked in. I thought the place was way too huge for the amount of supply they had. Just didn't seem to fit. I had a wonderful chat with the cashier about their cupcakes and the business while I scoped out their offerings. They have a lot of creative and beautiful looking cupcakes. I was really tempted by the cookie dough one (it has a mini cookie on top!). After consulting with her, I decided on coffee cookies and cream and caramel pecan crunch. I believe both are featured flavors rather than regular flavors. One cupcake is $2.95, but you can save some money buy purchasing a set of 2, 4, 6, etc. I thought both cupcakes were just OK. I liked the size. You are getting a regular sized cupcake here, not a mini. So I thought the price was right. Overall, I thought that the concentration was more on the frosting and add-ons rather than the cake. The coffee cookies and cream cake was pretty moist, but the caramel pecan crunch was a bit drier. Takehome: If I am in the area again, I would be willing to try out some of the other options that were calling my name. read more

I went to Lenox Cupcakes for the first time yesterday. The Red Velvet cupcake was awesome, very moist and the cream cheese icing was just the right amount. The second one I chose was Cookie Dough flavored. That one wasn't quite as good though, and I would likely not get it again as the icing didn't have a lot of flavor to me, and the cupcake itself was kind of plain. I'd go back to try a few others though since the first one was superb, so I'm hoping the second one was just a fluke! read more

I have now gone to Phipps Plaza twice in one week. Since moving to Atlanta last August, I had only been there twice before then. After my second visit to Lenox Cupcakes, I don't think I'll be back that often anymore, maybe in a couple months now. I wanted to try several cupcakes before I wrote this, but the fourth was enough. The shop looks really dark from the outside if you're walking towards Belk. It's kind of offputting because it makes it look not open if nobody else is in there. On my first visit on a Saturday morning, I met the owner, and she was super nice. The girls on the second visit were really nice too, and considering some other cupcake shops around town I've been in, that's a sure plus. There are some with super rude cashiers. The shop is really cute. There are cupcake shirts and aprons, and some themed cupcake decor sets. They have ten flavors that are the same each day, plus 2 rotating flavors that change every day. Most of the cupcakes I had were flavors of the day. First I had the Red Velvet, which was definitely my favorite of them all. I don't know what possessed me to get red velvet, because I don't really care for cream cheese frosting most of the time, but I ate that one up. The Chocolate Caramel I am still not so sure about. It was leaking caramel as I ate it, I kid you not. I'm not sure if I accidentally got it too warm by placing a hot plate near it for a couple minutes, or if this happened because I waited till the next day to eat it and left it at room temperature, or if it really is that liquid inside as is. But that caramel was not good. It tasted a lot like maple syrup. The chocolate cake was good though. This is a Saturday flavor, but you can get a vanilla cake version every day. Today I got the Mocha one which would be my second favorite. It's a chocolate cake like before, with mocha buttercream, and it's topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean. The other flavor on Wednesdays is Lemon and this was not good. First of all, I pulled off half the frosting. The cake didn't even reach the top of the liner, like it didn't even rise. It was pretty dense too, although not a dense as the cupcakes I once made with cornstarch instead of baking powder...but I was reminded of them with this cake. The lemony flavor is nice but I feel like the frosting was piled on to make up for the fact the cake was barely there. The only other complaint I have is that there is no uniformity to the cupcakes that I would expect from a cupcake bakery, although I am assuming this is a problem with the chocolate cake as this happened with the mocha and the chocolate caramel: the cake overflows along some side making the cupcake asymmetric on top, and also something I expect from my kitchen because I just pour at random. I posted up a picture of it on the mocha cupcake. Cupcakes are the standard Atlanta $2.50 each, no more than that, despite any other reviews claims at prices. I'll come back sometime, but Lenox Cupcakes, it's not you, it's that Lamborghini on the first floor. I swear. read more

This place has the perfect space and location to be booming in Chamblee. I had a hankering for a Red Velvet cupcake after a grueling day of coding school at The Iron Yard and once I reached the train station in the Antique Row neighborhood, I remembered I had gone to Lenox Cupcakes a few times last year, when they re-opened. From my conversation a few days ago with the woman who answered the back door that led to the kitchen (who I presume is the business owner), it seems that between the time they were in Buckhead and now in Chamblee, they were in the wholesale business and were not open to the public. Anyway, I gave Lenox Cupcakes 3 stars last year shortly after their opening of their current location because of the meager furnishings, taking off 1 star because of this. With my box of 4 flavors last year (see photos), I firmly believed the cupcakes were more than worthy of 4 stars. Last week's experience just shot up my opinion of this place 2 stars. Yes, 2 freakin' stars, people. The RV cupcake was fantastic. The cake was amazingly moist with the most luscious cream cheese frosting sweetened JUST RIGHT. I was stuffing my face as I made my way home, which resulted in red crumbs all over my face, lap, and car seat. Who cares!?! What pushes up this rating up through the roof is the service that I received. I knocked on the back door, which has a note indicating that the patron does not have to go around to the front to enter, instead, just knock. I didn't see a sign with the hours of operation so I wasn't sure anyone would come. I knocked once and no one seemed to hear. Before leaving, totally understanding that it would be reasonable for the joint to be closed as the time was approaching 7 p.m., I thought I'd knock once more for the hell of it. And then I heard light footsteps behind the metal door. The smiling woman invited me in and I got shy when I saw I'd walk through the kitchen, where there were two other women baking tons of cupcakes. She told me to just go through and she'd help me out front. The display was pretty sparse, as it was late in the day. I had vanilla (maybe birthday cake?), chocolate, caramel, and red velvet to select from. For some weird reason, I've been wanting red velvet cake, which before I thought was totally overrated. Anyway, she packed up my cupcake in a cute kraft paper box (with no extra cost like some new Atlanta cupcake competitors!) and when I asked the nice lady what time they usually closed on weekdays, she said 6 p.m. Come again? Did you pay attention to the aforementioned time? I was almost an hour past the time she said and when I brought that obvious face to her attention, she chuckled and said that as long as there's someone working in the kitchen, they'll open up their shop. If you want this rare special treatment, be sure to park out back. If you're in the front and they've closed for the day, it would probably be hard for anyone to hear you from the kitchen. Anyway, she walked me to the back door and bidded me farewell. This place is the shit and may replace my go-to cupcake shop in Buckhead as my pick for best cupcakes in Atlanta. Seriously. And I am talking about just the cupcakes themselves. Throw in the service and it is hard to find a place more deserving of more buzz and love. Go check them out! read more

I love cake, probably more than anyone! As a birthday present I was taken here for cupcakes. We went around 4pm on a Saturday and they were almost out of cupcakes. We were told they were baking more and to come back in 30 minutes. When we returned in 30 mins the new ones were almost gone! I tried 4 different types. White Chocolate, Strawberry Swirl, Red Velvet , and English Toffee. All were great. The next day I did have to warm the cupcake in the microwave for a few seconds.
