There were a lot of highlights- the big bridge, climbing the boulders to the scenic overlook of a huge marsh where we saw an enormous heron and lots of wild life- we saw porcupine, chipmunks, bunnies, and some cool birds, The trails were pretty easy, my three year old handled them well. There's even an ADA trail, making this an inclusive outdoor activity. This will remain a tradition when we go back to Thousand Islands!

It is a bit off the beaten path but offers breathtaking views. When walking on the Limestone beach look in both directions at the pure beauty of the cliffs and the trees. There were flush toilets and showers near the site which were super convenient. The park itself is well maintained, including the beach areas. We enjoyed hiking the trails and also took advantage of the park's canoe rental. It cost $28 for a full day rental, which included two life jackets and the paddles. Will definitely be back!

The comfort stations were meticulously clean and water stations were always just a short stroll from our site. There are 2 shallow beaches that were rarely crowded during our stay. There is kayak and canoe rentals available and we took advantage of the canoe rental to go fishing in the lake. Fishing was phenomenal as almost every cast returned at leave a small sunfish, perfect for young/beginner shoreline angler like my daughter. There are plenty of hiking trails and wild life. While fishing, we spotted some water snakes, giant snapping turtles and many frogs/toads. Only downside was the amount of mosquitoes we had to fight off due to plentiful rainfall earlier in the season. We would definitely return to camp here again and next time, we'll be sure to book for a week as the 4 days just flew right on by!

It has to be good right? Well, sorta. The hell hole part of it isn't really that impressive, but the hike is quite nice. The forest is really quite beautiful, with a few rock formations dotted about. It's an easy hike, but it's also SUPREMELY BUGGY. It was mosquito city out there. The office was nice enough to provide free bug spray. Pro tip: go crazy with it and spray your clothes! These mosquitos BITE THROUGH CLOTHES. The hike itself is about an hour or so. It's 3.2km, so it depends how fast you hike and how much you like lingering over stuff. The hell hole itself is a 20 foot sinkhole with a tiny opening, accessible by ladder. Once inside, it's pretty small in there, and in my opinion, a little creepy. It's pretty much pitch black. You can rent flashlights for $1.50 or you can use your husband's crappy cell phone which doesn't actually emit much light, then end up using your fancy camera's flash assist which only lights up for 2 seconds, giving you the double anxiety of worrying about dropping it on the craggy rocks or flashing it once and seeing some sort of cave monster appear in that second. I think if we had prepared ourselves with a thick slathering of bug spray and brought... I don't know... WATER, we would have enjoyed the hike much more. Also, the screaming teenagers that were just ahead of us on the trail ruined the peacefulness a bit. The place also has a mini putt course and picnic tables to eat lunch. It's about 20 minutes from the 401. It's pleasant enough, but didn't have the sulphur belching craters that I expect from a hell hole.

Near the south end of the area you'll hear quite a bit of road noise from the 401. Scenery is nothing exceptional, though it's likely you're not coming here expecting that. The reservoir itself is very pleasant, a large if weedy pond surrounded by cattails. All we saw on it was a brood of geese, though I'd expect you could see quite a few waterbirds here if you timed your visit right. Nothing special as parks go, I suppose, but a very welcome place to escape the concrete for a while.

We had a group of 8 and were the only ones on the river at that time of that particular day. Dylan was our guide and he was fantastic! He made sure we were safe, but that we had the times of our lives. It was a sunny, warm summer day. But not too warm that the water felt warm. We did some swimming next to the boat, some jumping off, some cliff jumping a little over halfway into the trip(which lasted about 5 hours total), stopped for a snack of juice and cookies then had an amazing dinner at the end! They even had a meal ready for my vegetarian kid! They even have a photographer taking your picture from the sides as you're going down and the price for the pictures at the end was super reasonable! I can't say enough how great it was. I recommend them to everyone who asks where they should go.

The comfort stations were clean and well maintained. Our site was ok; it was perched on a hill, with stairs needed to access the site. This made going to the car for supplies a bit inconvenient. Unfortunately, we were unable to use the main beach due to thousands of minnows washed up on shore. Apparently, this is a natural phenomenon occurring from a temperature change in the water. However, we swam at Dunes Beach, which was a lovely experience. The sand was fine like powder, and the water was clean.

Love this place…read more Nice to walk around, close to nature. We visited in late September with my daughter, mom and step dad. We discovered an artwork setup by the park team right by the water and we all enjoyed making paintings.
