The way this location runs its business is an absolute travesty. My family of five has been coming…read morehere for years, and I will give credit where it's due: the dentist does good work. Unfortunately, that's about the only positive thing I can say about this place.
Everything else is a complete mess, and it has been for a long time. Account information is constantly screwed up, insurance billing is mishandled, and they'll charge you one amount only to come back later and tell you that you owe more.
If you have an issue, you might as well plan on going there in person because NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. There always seem to be five or six employees working at the front desk or in the financial cubicles, yet somehow nobody can pick up a phone. You can sit on hold while their automated system tells you that you're fifth in line, patiently wait your turn, and then discover that you've been waiting in line just to reach an answering machine. And don't waste your time leaving a message because nobody is calling you back.
Want something as simple as a routine cleaning? You'd better schedule your next two appointments in advance because otherwise, good luck getting in on a normal six-month schedule.
To make matters worse, many of the employees I've dealt with, with perhaps the exception of some at the front desk, have terrible attitudes. Just two days ago, when I asked why nobody ever answers the phone, I was actually told that they're too busy with patients and don't have time to answer it. The employee even pointed to the phone sitting right in front of her! Apparently, answering calls from existing patients isn't part of providing patient care.
On another occasion, after I had already paid my bill, an additional charge appeared on my account. When I tried to pay it, their website wouldn't process the payment, and naturally, nobody at this location would answer the phone. I actually had to call a different Konikoff location just to pay a bill owed to this one. Think about how ridiculous that is.
And while we're talking about money, they even charge an additional fee for paying with a credit card. So, on top of the billing problems and unexpected charges, you're paying extra just for the convenience of using your card.
At this point, it genuinely feels like this office has more patients and makes more money than it can handle, and customer service has become an afterthought. I find it hard to believe that other patients haven't experienced some of these same problems.
I've put up with this nonsense for far too long, and I'm done. My family will be taking our business elsewhere.
If you're considering this location, I strongly encourage you to think twice. And if you don't believe how bad the phone situation is, try calling another Konikoff office and see how quickly someone answers and offers assistance. The difference in customer service speaks for itself.
You don't necessarily have to leave Konikoff altogether, but I would absolutely recommend avoiding this particular location.
I sincerely hope this review reaches as many current and prospective patients as possible. Dental care is expensive, and patients deserve more than just a good dentist. They deserve accurate billing, reasonable appointment availability, respectful treatment, and a staff that actually communicates with them.
We spend a lot of money on dental care, and expecting basic customer service shouldn't be asking too much.
