Unprofessional, Demeaning, and Disappointing Experience
My experience with Bette Leibowitz has been extremely disappointing. I signed my workers' compensation paperwork on September 22nd, and since then, I have found the communication to be unpleasant, unprofessional, and demeaning.
As this is my first workers' compensation claim, I reached out with a legitimate question because I wanted to understand the process and educate myself about a specific issue. Instead of receiving a helpful explanation or professional guidance, I was made to feel as though asking questions was somehow inappropriate.
The response I received was especially upsetting. I was told, in essence, that she had been doing this for 40 years and had never heard of someone wanting to be educated about a specific issue. I was also questioned about why I needed access to job instructions and updates when I was not currently working.
I believe that anyone navigating workers' compensation for the first time deserves patience, respect, clear communication, and answers to reasonable questions. No one should be made to feel belittled or embarrassed for wanting to understand their own claim and circumstances.
Unfortunately, my interactions have left me feeling disrespected and discouraged. Professionalism and compassion are especially important when dealing with people who may already be going through a difficult and stressful situation. Based on my experience, I am very disappointed with the way my concerns and questions were handled. read more
