The servers and, I believe, the owners seemed to know everyone. We speak only rudimentary German and only one young woman spoke a bit of English. But we were still treated great. We muddled through the menu with what we knew and some guesses and a bit of help with Google translator. My wife went with the white asparagus risotto while I ordered one of the specials which we paired with a bottle of Riesling. Now to be fair I knew I was ordering a meat per the German word "fleisch". But I didn't recognize the type. Well "sülzfleisch" it turns out was a type of headcheese, home made, with a sauce on the side and baked potatoes. I was surprised but dug in. We decided to sit outside, but because it started to drizzle, we went inside. We paid for our drinks outside and brought them in with us. The waiter was not friendly. Asked if we had paid for our drinks, I said we paid outside. I'm not sure if he believed me. When he finally came to take our drinks outside order, he seemed irritated with us. We got our drinks and order our meals. Our meals arrived very quickly and everything was wonderful. However, upon closing our bill, the waiter got very angry with me saying something about good service and no tip. We are literally in Germany where you don't tip. It's a cool place to see, but I'm not sure I would go back.

A side of potato salad and a tub of mustard complemented it just right. It was very low-key when I came in, but it looked like a great place to party.
