When I arrived at the shop, Jack Bowles greeted me..and we talked about where I was with the hobby, he showed me some of the DCC trains I was interested in and answered many questions that someone new to the hobby would have.. I really enjoyed going to this shop, and was glad to find a place where I could see the real products and someone to demo the HO DCC trains and hear the sounds in person etc..and ask questions in real time..you sure cant do that buying things online Definitely recommend this place!!..if you are interested in HO trains or other scales..they also carry a wide selection of scenery supplies and scale models...but the HO trains were my reason to be there.. Update..Went to the same store a few weeks ago while on a layover on a flight i was the captain for..and surprised to see the name change on the front of the building..it was about the end of sept 2019..the new owner introduced himself and the store was still looking good ..so it's still there and they still have trains like before..looks like Jack retired and Sal still works there..

The model T sitting and front window was what initially caught my eye. Yes, they have a fully built model T sitting at the front of the shop. Most of the store is heavily geared toward the older Florida tourist. Just imagine palm trees, flamingos and beach shell decorations- you get the idea. In the back area of the store there's a section containing multiple DVDs and books having to do with the estates. One of the more interesting items in the store is an original phonograph. They even provide white gloves for those with the urge to get hands on.

But some of the workers that are in charge of customer service in the stores are some of the most miserable people I have ever met. In the store on the Ford property, the lady gave us a dirty look when we walked in with our 2 and 4 year old sons. Her reaction when my 2 year old picked up a toy car pencil sharpener and brought it up to the counter to purchase was she gave him a disgusted look. I asked if they have kids come in there often and she started yelling at me "YES WE DO SIR but most people can control their kids". Then she started lecturing me on how he could break the metal toy car pencil sharpeners. Mind you this was the first thing the lady said to us. This lady was the nastiest person with a strong dislike for kids. The lady at the front store wasn't any nicer, even before our kids walked in. If it was just one of the employees i would have chalked it up to a bad day but they really need to do a better job of deciding who should be responsible for customer service.

The bin of slippers was a mess and it took me 15 minutes of digging to find two in a matching style and size with the price tag. The lady who rang up my sale was quite pleasant and friendly.
