Arianna reading chapter book
Carletta L.

Where do I start. Our daughter Arianna started Legacy when she was almost 4 years old. (our daughter has been in this school for roughly a year and half) She wasn't fully speaking in sentences just single words. The reason we had switched her is I knew she needed to be in an aggressive learning environment in which she could thrive and learn from other children. And wow! The school delivered more than I ever expected. Mrs. Katie the director knows so much about every child and how they are growing and developing in her program. My daughter's teachers Mrs. Beverly, Ms. Alice and now Mrs. Priscilla, have done such an amazing job with our daughter. Our daughter has such a strong personality and a willed spirit but the teachers set clear boundaries and even Mrs. Katie helped us implement some of the techniques that were used in the classroom we implemented at home to help our daughter with some of her behavioral struggles. Our daughter has made such strides and improvements since starting Legacy, she is now fully reading chapter books, doing double digit math and working independently. Our goal for her this year in kindergarten, is to continue improving in her studies and work hard with developing her penmanship and improve more in her math. We were overwhelmed when we toured the campus because there were children who were 3/4 and 5 years old doing math at a level of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. In our minds we felt the school was to advanced and our child was way behind her peers. However, Mrs.Katie is right, they work with each child at the place where they are and help develop them individually. They don't pressure nor do they put unrealistic expectations on your child. Trust when I tell you, your child will rise to the occasion an surprise you! if you stick with the school and work in the areas at home where your child needs additional improvement they will be doing and working at the same levels the other children are working at in no time. Consistency and patience is key. Listen to the teachers, ask questions through the procare app which the teachers will respond fairly quickly if you have any questions and or concerns. During progess report time, not only are these teachers accessing your child academically, but they are also assessing your child mentally on areas like age appropriate growth and development. The reports are extremely detailed and let's you know which areas you can help your child to continue to grow in. I have never In all my years of having my son in school ( i.e. college prep school), whom is now 24, accessed in the way this school have accessed Arianna which is a very good thing. These teachers care tremendously about each and every student and they definitely prayed over our child. Our child is a completely different person than when she started. Don't be intimidated, give your child the best academic foundation for their future. I'm so blessed that Mrs. Katie and her teachers had the patience and love to work with our daughter and us to make her a better student and a more rounded out loving child.

When making our preschool decision for our sons, we wanted a place that would be fun, spark friendships and teach them their numbers and letters. But more importantly, we wanted a place that would foster the development of their character and reinforce the virtues we were teaching at home. The staff and teachers at MCDC not only teach patience, community, love, discernment, mindfulness, confidence and discipline; they embody it. They provide the perfect mix of love with discipline, patience with order, independence with guidance. You can see the level of sacrifice each staff member exudes to ensure the best outcome for the students. All of their dedication is apparent in way our sons are developing. Both of my sons attended the school and by the time they turned 5, they were reading and writing beyond our expectations. They were exposed to a wide variety of subjects and not just memorizing facts, they were learning how these subjects worked through tactically application. They also had several opportunities to develop their speaking and leadership skills through performances, speeches and mentoring other students. In addition to the strong academics and leadership MCDC helped to foster was the peace of mind and confidence we felt in the morning dropping them off knowing they are in the best possible hands. As a parent, you make so many sacrifices for your children and it's nice to know for the hours they are at school, the teachers and staff share that same level of love and dedication. Fast forward seven years - my sons are currently in seventh and fifth grade and both continue to thrive. Both tested into GATE SEMINAR and have continued to be in accelerated classes throughout their schooling. We attribute a lot of their success to the great foundation they received at MCDC. We were very nervous about how they would transition from a Montessori school to a traditional public school. However, they excelled academically and socially and made the transition smoothly. As with any Montessori school, it was an investment for our family. But, we feel the skills our sons learned combined with the independence and character they developed made our investment worth it. We would offer our highest recommendation to MCDC!

They will take your money to add you to an imaginary waitlist, which they will then "pause" without notice and without a refund of your deposit. I paid the waitlist fee of $150 on April 6, 2022 with a projected opening spot of December 2022 for my infant. I inquired numerous times regarding my place on the waitlist, only to be given vague responses such as: 1. "We are still working our way through the waitlist" 2. "We have paused all Poway enrollment at this time, we are hoping to enroll new children very shortly into our center. I will be in touch with you soon once we start to move down the waitlist", and 3. "Once we come across your name on the waitlist and a spot becomes available I will be in touch with you immediately." It's the end of January 2023 and I have yet to hear from them. My family and I waited and waited to hear from them, and were not able asses our childcare options properly due to their lack of communication. At this point, I don't believe there is even a waitlist anymore, and i just lost $150 at no fault of our own. If I had removed myself from the waitlist I would understand not getting a refund, but that is not the case. I'm still here waiting for them to "come across my name." I would not recommend taking the chance. Good luck, parents!

As a parent of a daughter who will graduate from Country Montessori School this year, I find myself…read morefeeling both incredibly proud and genuinely excited as she prepares to head to middle school. When I look at the person she has become, I'm honestly amazed. She is confident, outspoken, and comfortable expressing her thoughts in a way I never was at her age. Montessori has played a huge role in that growth. Over the years, she has learned that her voice matters and that she can advocate for herself and others respectfully and thoughtfully. That confidence didn't come overnight, but it's now such a natural part of who she is. She asks questions, speaks up in group settings, and isn't afraid to share her ideas, which I know will serve her well wherever she goes next. One of the most meaningful parts of her experience has been the emphasis on community service. Her favorite activity has been volunteering at a memory care facility. She comes home from those visits talking about the residents she met and how much it meant to spend time with them. Those experiences have had a real impact on her and have even shaped her future goals. She often says she wants to be a nurse someday because she wants to help people, and as a parent, there's nothing more heartwarming than seeing that sense of compassion grow. As she prepares for the next chapter, I feel confident knowing she has a strong foundation. The academic skills, independence, empathy, and self-confidence she has developed at Country Montessori School have prepared her to face new challenges with resilience and curiosity. Watching her step forward so sure of herself is the greatest testament to the education and community she's been part of all these years.

We moved to San Diego from Virginia about two and a half years ago, where we came from a public school system consistently ranked among the best in the country. I was honestly nervous about transitioning into the California school system -- until my husband found CMS. From the moment we learned more about the school, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief. CMS is one of the ONLY montessori schools that is fully accredited, and that distinction truly shows in the quality of education and care. Not to mention the teachers require continuing education and are the only facility that teaches the teacher... We now have both of our children enrolled at CMS, and they are absolutely thriving. Our daughter began at CMS not speaking much at all. Today, she is reading (she started before age five), doing addition, and has grown tremendously in vocabulary and confidence. She is developmentally ahead of many of her peers who attend other schools in the area, and watching her growth has been incredible. Our son, who is three started a few months ago and he's a wild one (if you know you know). The transition hasn't been without challenges as he was at home with me and a nanny for several years -- but the CMS team has been unbelievably supportive. They've worked closely with us, offering guidance on how to support him both at school and at home. We've been met with nothing but patience, kindness, and genuine partnership. I've seen some critical reviews online, and I want to be honest -- that has NOT been our experience at all, especially when it comes to Adela. Over the past three years, we have experienced nothing but exceptional communication and unwavering support from her and the team. Adela goes out of her way to make families feel supported, seen, and valued. We go to monthly meet & greets, have had 1:1s with her and get consistent weekly communication - I rarely saw this in other educational spaces both here in CA and in VA. We've also become close with several other CMS families, and they echo the same experience. My only complaint is that the school doesn't go through high school (said half-jokingly), because I would keep my children here forever and would spend my last dollar at CMS. We are endlessly grateful for CMS and wholeheartedly recommend it to any family seeking a nurturing, AUTHENTIC Montessori education.

My Room to Grow - A Truly Wonderful School…read more We absolutely love My Room to Grow! Our son, Tristan, started in the Peach Room and is now in TK, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the very beginning, the warmth, dedication, and experience of the teachers have been evident. Not only in how they care for the children, but in how long many of them have been with the school. That kind of consistency speaks volumes about the culture My Room to Grow has built. The teachers here are incredible. Every single one we have met has gone above and beyond to help Tristan learn, grow, and thrive. Carina and Kathy, in particular, have shown such patience, care, and creativity in supporting his development. And Principal Meghan is so thoughtful and engaged, she genuinely knows and cares about every child and family. We have seen tremendous progress in Tristan in just a year and a half, and we are so grateful for the loving environment that has helped him flourish. In fact, we chose to keep him here another year, even though he qualified for Universal TK through Poway Unified, because we simply couldn't imagine a better place for him to continue learning and growing. Our only regret is not finding My Room to Grow sooner! It's such a comfort to know that while I am at work, Tristan is in the hands of people who truly care for him and want the best for him.
