    Arianna reading chapter book
    Carletta L.

Where do I start. Our daughter Arianna started Legacy when she was almost 4 years old. (our daughter has been in this school for roughly a year and half) She wasn't fully speaking in sentences just single words. The reason we had switched her is I knew she needed to be in an aggressive learning environment in which she could thrive and learn from other children. And wow! The school delivered more than I ever expected. Mrs. Katie the director knows so much about every child and how they are growing and developing in her program. My daughter's teachers Mrs. Beverly, Ms. Alice and now Mrs. Priscilla, have done such an amazing job with our daughter. Our daughter has such a strong personality and a willed spirit but the teachers set clear boundaries and even Mrs. Katie helped us implement some of the techniques that were used in the classroom we implemented at home to help our daughter with some of her behavioral struggles. Our daughter has made such strides and improvements since starting Legacy, she is now fully reading chapter books, doing double digit math and working independently. Our goal for her this year in kindergarten, is to continue improving in her studies and work hard with developing her penmanship and improve more in her math. We were overwhelmed when we toured the campus because there were children who were 3/4 and 5 years old doing math at a level of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. In our minds we felt the school was to advanced and our child was way behind her peers. However, Mrs.Katie is right, they work with each child at the place where they are and help develop them individually. They don't pressure nor do they put unrealistic expectations on your child. Trust when I tell you, your child will rise to the occasion an surprise you! if you stick with the school and work in the areas at home where your child needs additional improvement they will be doing and working at the same levels the other children are working at in no time. Consistency and patience is key. Listen to the teachers, ask questions through the procare app which the teachers will respond fairly quickly if you have any questions and or concerns. During progess report time, not only are these teachers accessing your child academically, but they are also assessing your child mentally on areas like age appropriate growth and development. The reports are extremely detailed and let's you know which areas you can help your child to continue to grow in. I have never In all my years of having my son in school ( i.e. college prep school), whom is now 24, accessed in the way this school have accessed Arianna which is a very good thing. These teachers care tremendously about each and every student and they definitely prayed over our child. Our child is a completely different person than when she started. Don't be intimidated, give your child the best academic foundation for their future. I'm so blessed that Mrs. Katie and her teachers had the patience and love to work with our daughter and us to make her a better student and a more rounded out loving child.

When making our preschool decision for our sons, we wanted a place that would be fun, spark friendships and teach them their numbers and letters. But more importantly, we wanted a place that would foster the development of their character and reinforce the virtues we were teaching at home. The staff and teachers at MCDC not only teach patience, community, love, discernment, mindfulness, confidence and discipline; they embody it. They provide the perfect mix of love with discipline, patience with order, independence with guidance. You can see the level of sacrifice each staff member exudes to ensure the best outcome for the students. All of their dedication is apparent in way our sons are developing. Both of my sons attended the school and by the time they turned 5, they were reading and writing beyond our expectations. They were exposed to a wide variety of subjects and not just memorizing facts, they were learning how these subjects worked through tactically application. They also had several opportunities to develop their speaking and leadership skills through performances, speeches and mentoring other students. In addition to the strong academics and leadership MCDC helped to foster was the peace of mind and confidence we felt in the morning dropping them off knowing they are in the best possible hands. As a parent, you make so many sacrifices for your children and it's nice to know for the hours they are at school, the teachers and staff share that same level of love and dedication. Fast forward seven years - my sons are currently in seventh and fifth grade and both continue to thrive. Both tested into GATE SEMINAR and have continued to be in accelerated classes throughout their schooling. We attribute a lot of their success to the great foundation they received at MCDC. We were very nervous about how they would transition from a Montessori school to a traditional public school. However, they excelled academically and socially and made the transition smoothly. As with any Montessori school, it was an investment for our family. But, we feel the skills our sons learned combined with the independence and character they developed made our investment worth it. We would offer our highest recommendation to MCDC!

We moved to San Diego two years ago. Before that, we had a childcare provider that we really loved, and we were concerned about finding something comparable. I think we contacted close to 25 different providers before deciding on Ms. Elizabeth and Montessori Center SD, and wow, what a great decision. She has far exceeded any expectations we had. We love the balance of free play and structured, Montessori-style learning. It feels like a lot of providers simply slap that word in their branding but aren't actually delivering. Ms. Elizabeth is the real deal, and it feels like our daughters really are learning and growing. Our older daughter started TK this past year, and she was extremely well prepared for basic writing, the ability to sit and concentrate, and general social dynamics. Beyond the basics, we love that Ms. Elizabeth creates opportunities throughout the year to come together and meet the other families and parents. The other amazing thing has been how healthy our kids have stayed over the last two years. In the past, we used to deal with the kids constantly picking up colds and germs, which were then seemingly re-shared and re-circulated without any real resolution. That hasn't happened over the last two years. *knock on wood* we are very grateful for whatever is working. TLDR - I would highly recommend Ms. Elizabeth and Montessori Center SD.

She has grown tremendously under Elizabeth's care, in her language skills, educational foundation, and social skills! Elizabeth has met her where she is at and kept her engaged. She has already met kindergarten readiness requirements even though kindergarten is years away. The class size is small, so my little has gotten lots of attention and been supported through success in toilet learning! Elizabeth uses positive discipline and redirection, effectively managing the class without shaming children. This was very important to us! Elizabeth has also been a great support, providing guidance, resources, and insight on how we can implement Montessori principles at home. She has helped me get a better grasp on positive discipline, and also helped me to navigate my child's developmental leaps. I recommend this school to all of my friends for the personalized attention for both students and parents, and true Montessori practices from age 3 months to 5 years!

From the very first day, it was clear that this is a warm, thoughtful, and nurturing environment where children truly thrive. The classroom is set inside a home, which gives the entire space a calm, welcoming feeling. It's beautifully arranged with Montessori materials and child-friendly areas that encourage independence, exploration, and learning at each child's own pace. You can immediately sense how intentionally the environment is set up--everything feels purposeful, peaceful, and designed to help little ones feel safe and confident. What truly sets this daycare apart is Ms. June. She plans the most creative, engaging, and thoughtful activities every single day. My son comes home excited to share what he learned, and we've seen incredible growth in his communication, speech, reading, and overall skills. The Montessori approach here isn't just a label--it's genuinely practiced, and the results show. One of the things I appreciate most is how personally involved Ms. June is with each child. She knows them deeply--their strengths, challenges, interests--and she gives them the kind of individual attention that makes them feel seen and supported. It's obvious how much my little one adores her and looks up to her. Under her guidance, my son has already started reading and writing simple words, something we didn't expect this early. Her weekly Friday "Show and Tell" series has also been such a gift--he speaks more confidently and clearly, and it's helped him come out of his shell in the best way. A special mention also goes to Ms. Addie, who is incredibly sweet, gentle, and nurturing. Together, they create a truly loving environment that feels like an extension of home. Our child is genuinely happy to go every single day--and to any parent, that says everything. We could not be more grateful for the foundation he's receiving here. Setting up a tour and getting more information was a breeze. The facilities are clean, secure, and well thought out. Each classroom is explicitly arranged to encourage exploration and engagement. Ms. Corrales and all the teachers & staff truly care about each student. It always impressed me how they knew every kid's name and family, no matter which classroom or age. Our daughter always felt welcomed, safe, and cared for. As a parent, I truly appreciated the clear and quick communication we received from the newsletters, emails, and updated calendar on the parent portal. All questions were answered quickly. No communication was ever ignored or unaddressed. I looked forward to getting monthly Dragonfly newsletters and seeing photos of all the wonderful things they did. One thing I especially loved was how families were encouraged to come share cultural holidays, celebrations, and food with the class. Our daughter developed leaps and bounds in Dragonflies. A huge shoutout to Ms. Estrada, Ms. Jacdedt, and Ms. Ochoa! She's emerged more confident and capable. She problem-solves and approaches things from different perspectives. When I look at the person she has become, I'm honestly amazed. She is confident, outspoken, and comfortable expressing her thoughts in a way I never was at her age. Montessori has played a huge role in that growth. Over the years, she has learned that her voice matters and that she can advocate for herself and others respectfully and thoughtfully. That confidence didn't come overnight, but it's now such a natural part of who she is. She asks questions, speaks up in group settings, and isn't afraid to share her ideas, which I know will serve her well wherever she goes next. One of the most meaningful parts of her experience has been the emphasis on community service. Her favorite activity has been volunteering at a memory care facility. She comes home from those visits talking about the residents she met and how much it meant to spend time with them. Those experiences have had a real impact on her and have even shaped her future goals. She often says she wants to be a nurse someday because she wants to help people, and as a parent, there's nothing more heartwarming than seeing that sense of compassion grow. As she prepares for the next chapter, I feel confident knowing she has a strong foundation. The academic skills, independence, empathy, and self-confidence she has developed at Country Montessori School have prepared her to face new challenges with resilience and curiosity. Watching her step forward so sure of herself is the greatest testament to the education and community she's been part of all these years.
