History

Established in 2011.

Legacy Martial Arts was founded in 2011 by Robert Bentley. In 2013 they moved to their current location at the Oak Street Mall. The instructors at Legacy not only teach amazing classes to ages 4 and up, but they serve in the community by volunteering at local schools and churches on a weekly basis. Moving into 2016, Legacy now has 9 certified Taekwondo Instructors, 5 Jiu-Jitsu Coaches, and instructors in Fitness, Yoga, and Zumba.

Meet the Business Owner: Robert B.

Mr. Bentley started training in martial arts in 1996 at the age of 10. He received his first degree black belt in 1998, and became an assistant instructor the following year. He became a certified instructor in 2006 and started managing schools in the Oklahoma City area. In 2010, he moved back to the Quincy area to pursue his dream of owning a martial arts studio. In January of 2011, he founded Legacy Martial Arts, and in 2014 he created the Legacy Instructor Training Program so his students could learn how to teach and eventually open their own schools as well. In 2016, Mr. Bentley set a goal to have more than a dozen certified instructors at the Legacy training facility in Quincy.

Legacy Martial Arts is an awesome place for kids to build there self confidence and also discipline:) My daughter is a tiny tiger there and she absolutely loves it. After her first class she inspired me to start as well and every since we've been on this journey together and we have Legacy Martial Arts instructors to thank for that. My family became part of the Legacy family in 2006, and we never left. Legacy teaches martial arts and so much more. Besides other fitness classes, the instructors really embrace the "it takes a village to raise a child" philosophy. Kids are rewarded by their instructors for good behavior both at home and at school. It's a fantastic place. read more
