We were low on food and it's been getting freezing outside. We didn't have friends or family that we knew and we told this church ALL of this. We were in deep need for some help. They had us fill out an application to see if we could receive anything from them, which already gave us a bad vibe about this place. It's been two whole weeks and they chose not to help us. And do you know what terrible thing the man there said? "If we DECIDE not to help, just know that the Lord will." Are you actually KIDDING me? I'm not going to say much else, but I know the Lord is going to bring this up when you all die. How EVIL!!!

We were hoping for an engaged congregation and these things are hard to determine from social media. After checking out numerous Facebook pages we settled on Tri Lakes. What a wonderful morning of spirit led music by talented musicians. We were welcomed warmly and the 70 minutes flew by. The sermon by Pastor Dave was inspiring and thought provoking. My impression is that the children programs are well run and a safe and loving place for all ages. I highly recommend and would return.

A Mom's Heartfelt Thank You to Camp Kanakuk…read more As a mom, sending your child away for two weeks is not always easy. There is so much excitement for them, but there is also that little voice in the back of your mind wondering, Are they okay? Are they being taken care of? Do they feel loved? Do they feel safe? Are they having fun? I can honestly say that Camp Kanakuk gave me so much peace and comfort while my daughter was away. My daughter absolutely LOVED her time at Kanakuk. She loved her counselors, loved the activities, loved the friendships, and came home with so many stories and memories. The biggest compliment she could possibly give the camp was when she told me that she doesn't want to go to any other camp next year she only wants to go back to Camp Kanakuk! Before Kanakuk, she had attended YMCA camp, so I wasn't sure how she would feel about a different camp. But Kanakuk completely won her heart. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was just how much more she got to experience at Kanakuk. She was able to participate in so many different activities, try new things, make memories, and experience things that she simply hadn't gotten the opportunity to experience anywhere else. She was able to step outside of her comfort zone, have new adventures, and just truly be a kid. Hearing her talk about everything she got to do and seeing the excitement in her eyes made my heart so happy. As her mom, one of the things that touched me the most was seeing how much the counselors seemed to genuinely care about her. They braided her hair, spent time with her, encouraged her, and made her feel special. It wasn't just about supervising the kids it truly felt like they cared about her as a person. I was also absolutely amazed by the photographers! Somehow, they always seemed to find my daughter and capture the sweetest pictures of her. As a mom who was missing her little girl terribly, those pictures meant more to me than I can even explain. Every time I saw a picture of her smiling, laughing, or enjoying herself, I could breathe a little easier. Another thing that really stood out to me was how many people seemed to know who my daughter was. She wasn't just another camper. Staff knew her, recognized her, and made her feel seen. That meant everything to me as her mom. I know my daughter had an incredible time because I could see it in her face when she came home. She was excited, happy, and full of stories. She came home with memories that I know she will carry with her for years to come. And for me, the greatest gift was knowing that while she was away from home, she was being loved, cared for, encouraged, and having the time of her life. That is something a mom never takes for granted. Thank you, Camp Kanakuk, for taking such wonderful care of my daughter and for giving her an experience she will never forget. Thank you to her counselors for loving on her, encouraging her, braiding her hair, making her laugh, and helping her feel at home. Thank you to the photographers for capturing memories that I will treasure forever. And thank you to every staff member who knew her name and made her feel important. You gave this mama something incredibly valuable: peace of mind. And you gave my daughter a camp she already says she wants to return to next year. We are so incredibly grateful. Kanakuk has definitely made a place in our hearts, and I have a feeling this won't be her last summer there! Thank you for taking care of my girl. You loved her well, and this mama noticed.

They kept the camp going without letting parents know there was a serious systemic issue and then they quickly re-organized the ownership status to limit personal liability. They kept the camp going in order to sweep in the revenue and protected the guilty because they did not want to hurt Christ's reputation. just now-Edit One day early this spring after a weeks worth…read moreof rain I pick him up and the children were playing outside on the carpeted playground .. it was 60 some degrees.. and my kid was soaking wet and his hands felt like an ice cube, his feet were freezing and his cheeks were red and wind burned he was only wearing a light jacket and his socks were soaked. His teacher says sorry he is wet but the playground is wet.. ( he had multiple changes of clothes in his locker they could have put him but then i suppose he would have just gotten them wet also due to the playground conditions ) The next morning I explained that this was not acceptable to his teacher, and he is not to be outside like that again, I was told by the teacher in the room, that she knew and understood and she tried to tell Mrs. Pam that it was too cold and wet, and Mrs Pam yelled at her and told her to get the kids outside now. She said if Pam told her to take them out that day she would tell no and that she can be the one embarrassed and explain it to the parents. Shortly after that the Teacher quit then some time passed and the other teacher quit too.. This room is all children 2 and under keep in mind. They have no business outside in the wet cold. I have picked him up Numerous times with a stinky diaper, over a two week period it was almost daily, and the poop had already dried to his butt. THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE. YOU CAN NEVER CALL AND TALK TO ANYONE AT THE DAY CARE. Pam the lady in charge is NOT warm and friendly very cold, and has no business dealing with children, her face and body language says she has a real distaste for children. ONLY USE THIS DAY CARE IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. !!!!! Two weeks ago I had paid by check and my Ex had also paid with cash ($150.00 a week ) I received an invoice a week later that did not say paid, I said to the workers in the baby room I just got invoiced and we double paid last week, she says we do not know anything about that, she went and asked another lady, came back she says that we have to talk to Mrs. Pam they think it is just a mistake that it does not say paid, I called and left a message when I got to work for Mrs. Pam to call me I says I have a billing question I never heard back from her. I walked in today through the baby room like always, no one was there..I could hear Mrs. Pam in the other room just being hateful and yelling at a kid about going potty I walked into the other room to let her know we were there she looked startled and she says I thought that door was locked like it was my fault the door was open and unlocked.. she automatically started yelling at me saying I owed her $150.00 . I says I called you last week and left a message about the bill, I also asked two teachers about my invoice, she says it does not matter you still owe me $150.00 I says no we both paid you last week. I said to Mrs Pam the lady at the counter whoever that was took the cash from him and wrote the date and his name on envelope, So we need to find it. Mrs Pam says that is why we don't like for you to hand it to someone you have to put in the box, You owe me $150.00 for this week. I says well can we just look at the cameras to see what happened to it, she says I don't have time, I says okay I start to walk off, my child is bawling because he has to go with her only two teachers there he does not like I says what do you mean you do not have time to look at the cameras I called you last week,, Mrs Pam says i am planning a party today I am just busy. This does not make sense as I called her over a week ago to discuss the bill.. it had nothing to do with the party she was planning today.. she then says you still owe me $ 150.00. The conversation with her did not make any sense and she was trying to fast talk me like I was going to just say okay and pay her again she refused to look at the camera footage or even talk to me about it. very weird behavior. My 3 year old has been going here for a year and she loves it. The staff has always been friendly towards me and from what I have seen, to her as well. She is to the age now that she could tell me if things were wrong and she has never said anything negative. When incidents do occur with other children (it's a daycare, things will happen) they are always good about relaying the information. I have been looking into putting my daughter into the preschool in the school system and so I took her to a screening and they told me she is too advanced to need their preschool services. So either she is just naturally smart or this preschool really is getting her prepared for school. I like to think both are true!
