She wanted somewhere to keep her money safe and would've liked a debit card, but you have to be 18 yrs old for one of those. So I got a debit card and my daughter ordered checks. We chose this bank out of a referral from my ex mother-in-law Sharon Bennett. My daughter stayed with her during school to play softball then got a job as a lifeguard so she'll be in Okeene for quite a while. The bank looks very nice on the outside. The majority of the parking is on the North side of the bank with one disabled parking spot directly in front. The entrance looks more like your walking into a nice home to visit friends, there's a very "homey" feel to it. They had just opened the lobby back up today (June 1st, 2020) and were ready for customers. Of course we were requested to wear masks and keep our distance from employees and each other. There was also a hand sanitizer station right when you walk in Cindy greeted us as soon as we walked and told us to come on up, so there was no wait time. She helped us out from filling out all the paperwork, picking out checks, a design for the debit card to explaining all the little details of having an account. She was very helpful and informative. We even got a complimentary cup holder, auto phone holder and some pens for each of us. Cindy made this experience very pleasurable, thank you Cindy!!

I don't usually take checks at my business but I felt sorry for this customer and took his check on…read morea weekend. Bad move on my part. I called on Monday to verify funds and was told the check was good. When I mentioned cashing the check I was told I could not because it was over $1000. I had to drive 40 miles and meet the customer at the bank to get cash. Cost me several hours of time and gas money to get the money I was owed. I wont be taking anymore checks no matter what. I always say "no good deed goes un-punished". I guess that's very true with Cornerstone.
