CheerVille Athletics is the BEST local cheer gym around . . . IF your aim is to teach your child…read moreproper cheer jumping, tumbling, stunting and performing techniques. We've been here since the gym opened and we wouldn't go anywhere else. The coaches set the bar high. They make sure a child knows proper technique before moving them to the next level. As far as the cheer expo goes, it is not unusual for an athlete to have to nugget or just stand for part of a performance. That's why it is so hard for some parents who do not understand how a team is scored or who don't know the story behind the routine. Perhaps those 2 athletes who had to stand there were fill-ins for other athletes. Perhaps they didn't have all the skills to perform in the entire routine. Whatever the reason, those athletes CHOSE to be there that day. So, for someone to see one performance and then stick their nose in the air and waddle off arrogantly to another gym is an unfair reaction. As for the mom who posted the picture about the email: she was asked to leave our gym. Seriously, what do you not get about the rules? If there are fans in the VIP area recording the routine, it affects a team's score. So, the fact that the mom is upset about the email just proves she is clueless and most likely one of the offenders. The owner didn't say NOT to record your athlete. The owner stated do not stand in the VIP area and record. Second, if you have a killer routine and someone records it and posts it online, guess what happens? Yep, other gyms steal your routine. Sad, but it happens. CheerVille isn't for everyone. They aren't just creating award-winning teams (Search them on the Web, you'll see - #1 cheer gym in Tennessee), they help mold and raise your child. They instill qualities in them that you want for your child! CheerVille isn't perfect . . . it's not for everyone . . . but they are respectable, skilled, knowledgeable, driven and loving - everything I look for in someone who is coaching my child. My child already cheers on 2 teams at the gym, she STILL wants to spend her free hours there at the gym. CheerVille is her 2nd family.

After those 3 conversations in which I asked for clarification, I announced to the kids at our party we would have to play in the gym area for 20 minutes at the end of the party during clean up. However, instead of enjoying the last part of the party, a worker named Lexi and a woman wearing black lipstick, aggressively threatened me and physically blocked the children from going into that area with their bodies and with verbal threats. I wouldn't have even thought to go in the gym area, but was told WE HAD TO. Then was attacked for it. These women used their bodies to block, intimidate and bully the toddler age children. The worker, Lexi, made my 4 year old daughter cry at her own birthday party. The other toddlers were also crying. She proceeded to gossip and say rude things loudly about us in front of our kids. Don't book here unless you want your birthday girl to leave in actual tears while being taunted and bullied for trying to follow their specific rules exactly as they were stated and explained. It also states in the rules that the party coordinator will help you clean up, but that didn't happen. They did nothing to help. We cleaned up everything alone while the party coordinator ruined our party and traumatized our kids.

The owner and her coach have went above and beyond to help with this and pull her out of her shell. The coaches have brought a group of girls who vary largely in age, together as a sisterhood more than a team. I love the fact that the coaches have become more like family. The coaches take time to find each athletes strengths as well help them overcome their shortcomings. I am looking at enrolling my niece as well now so she can experience the family and joy of cheerleading my daughter has.

The new owner Cathy Kiser has been coaching gymnastics for several years. She is USAG Jr. Olympic certified and a USAG certified Judge. Her dream was to own her own gym and with her husband being a United States Marine that dreamed seemed far away. Moving from Okinawa Japan where she coached for several years and began a USAG competitive program for our Military dependents. She was very grateful for the opportunity to make her dream a reality. Even though her family is stationed in Mississippi She lives in Pleasant View Tennessee where it was possible for her to make her dream a reality. With family plans to retire in the area this makes it easier for her to endure the separation from her family We have already taken the initiative to make several changes and improvements. We have added several different programs and are adding new equipment. We are looking forward to growing and working with our new community which already feels like home!

His reaction to a little constructive critique over something as tiny as a t-shirt design was shocking to me and so unnecessary. I don't find aggressive and hostile behavior against a mother and customer of 4 years as appropriate, especially over a t-shirt design and asking you to please calm down. Escalating something so small is not good business and could have been handled much better, like stay out of discussions between moms and let them handle it. Then hurting the child to show control and power is beyond..."If you want [child name] to stay in this program, I believe you need to realize how you speak to the manager of this gym." He came at me for commenting in a group chat with moms about a new sweatshirt design, that I found the new gym one "unreadable and messy" and then me telling him he was creating unnecessary drama and making a huge deal out of nothing. It was bizarre. It's a shirt design! It was a light convo between some team moms working on a team spirit project. I cannot imagine having to question a decision about choreography, positions, or team placement with this man. I stayed out of all that. I just wanted input on a sweatshirt design I would buy for myself. He seems to think women don't have a voice and he can do as he pleases. Well. I do. Now I was told he threatened my 17 year old son his job if Mom won't pull negative reviews. Just more threats and power plays versus calming down and apologizing and leaving the child alone and out of it. Not a good place at this time in my opinion.

My athlete has said this was a waste of time which translates into a lot of wasted money and time. I have heard that the full teams are a different story with a different commitment from the athletes, parents and coaches. If you know what you want then don't do HYPE.
