I was fortunate to be able to attend high tea at this magnificent building. Normally, one can rent out the entire building for exclusive use. It has nine unbelievable bedrooms, a breathtaking party room, beautiful sitting room, library, and much, much more. Words can't describe how beautiful this estate is. The gentleman who hosted our tea also stays on sight when guests stay to take care of you. He was fantastic and a wealth of knowledge about the history of the building and everything in it! I don't know the cost, but I know it would be well worth it if you could swing it! I don't think you could find a more enchanting place to stay in Northern Ireland!

We had been invited to a wedding and this was the reception venue. The venue couldn't physically cater for a big wedding. This one was around 100 guests and it was a tad cramped. The stage is small too. The meal was excellent, fish starter, perfectly cooked tasty meats for main and a scrummy trio of desserts. For the most part Irish restaurants deliver excellent fish and meat. The country is a giant natural larder and the cold Atlantic provides everything from crab and oysters to salmon and turbot, with a mostly soft damp climate with few temperature extremes. It has to be one of the best natural food rearing, growing climates on earth. Where restaurants did disappoint was usually the vegetables which were either cooked until they disintegrated or they were not properly cooked at all. The former was more typical. This place got it right. All the vegetables were perfectly cooked. It's also a fact or at least it's how I find it now that the places that murder great veg by overcooking are diminishing. In terms of rating it's probably a one star, there's no swimming pool, no jacuzzi or steam baths. Just a basic ten room old hotel with oodles of parking. It's not bad enough to need redecorated but it's not at all modern if you get my drift. I wouldn't change it as it's period, characterful and lots of real wood and old comfy chairs. The best thing about it is the friendliness of the staff. Like so many places now, the welcome and the service is genuinely warm and has that beguiling Irish charm. Now TH's we've been once, and liked it, we'll be back to try the al a carte. One real bummer though, the coffee is crap and like the over cooked vegetables of old Ireland it's just not acceptable to serve up this awful powdered crap any more. The buffet breakfast was very nice with a good variety: the full Irish, both plain and fruit yoghurts, cereals, muesli, fresh fruit and fruit salads and some amazing scrambled eggs! You also order a few things like porridge, boiled/ poached eggs, eggs Benedict, pancakes etc. I do wish they had a low fat or skim milk option available. The rooms are pretty nice! I stayed on the 4th floor which is pretty massive with a super king size bed. There's also an empty mini fridge to put your own foods, a kettle and a supply of tea and instant coffee, a fan and a small hairdryer. I also stayed in a twin room on the first floor which is much smaller but still good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the decor is crisp and clean, and there's free wifi! Bad points: The cleaning staff don't really clean the room very well. They forgot to replace used cups and spoons a few times as well as the soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Also, there's only one desk chair in the rooms, even the twin rooms so me and my friend both couldn't use the desk at the same time. Overall: Great location, clean, friendly staff, reasonable rates for a 4 star, amazing breakfast and comfortable beds!

We were on the 6th floor on one of the hottest, more than usual, days of the year. The room was spacious and bed size was great but the bed is one mattress on a board and was not the most comfortable but adequate. The room had modern furniture which didn't appear very clean but the bathroom and rest of the room was clean except the carpet floor. It had been vacuumed well but didn't look clean. The room was VERY hot, no air conditioner. There was a nice fan and the window barely opened to allow cooler outside air in. No outlet near the window to plug the fan in to draw cool are in so it had to be plugged in across the room. The worse problem was NO WiFi. Checked in about 4:00pm. no WiFi. Called the front desk and they said they would reboot the service and retry in 20 minutes. Went to dinner, came back still no WiFi. Called the desk about five times but they wouldn't answer the phone or return the phone call. About 6:00 I went down to the desk. She apologized and said she'd send someone up. I called back down after no one came to the room. About 9:00pm an IT guy came and said we were right, there was no internet connection and he'd go reboot the system. Bedtime and still no WiFi. The next morning and still no WiFi. Called the desk, asked for a manager and was told he doesn't come in until 9:00am but he'd relay the message. NOT ONCE DURING THE WHOLE TIME DID ANYONE CALL OR COME TO THE ROOM TO MAKE SURE WIFI WAS UP AND RUNNING. Poorest service I've had in Ireland. I'd never stay here again.

The English mustard too is poor quality it's oil based, cheap and in a tube where it stayed. Just nasty rubbish served intentionally. The cappuccino is grim and for this there's no excuse either.
