I am currently living in one of their buildings as I am writing this. If I could I would leave a zero stars if could. The worst management company ever. Their buildings are infested with roaches, first I thought it was just the building I am residing in, but I asked around did some digging. Turns out they have a few buildings that have infestation and they dont care to fins a solution. They know it very well but pretend like they don't know (don't care). They do not care to even take any measures to find a solution. The super of the building are unprofessional and incompetent. Lastly your downstairs tenant will harass you starting the first day moving in. I would strongly suggest stay far away from the buildings this company manages. I lived in one of Leemar's Buildings in Rego Park for 3 years. 3 years too long, to be honest. They didn't help us at all with severely horrible neighbors (even though the lease CLEARLY stated specific violations aka unreasonable noise), nor did they fully help us with our apartment that had serious damages. It would actually rain INSIDE of my living room window frames and bedroom window frames because they refused to reface the bricks on the outside of the building. There was probably a mold problem we couldn't see inside of the walls because of it. There were broken laundry appliances, the doors to the basement were constantly unlocked or open at all hours of the night and the elevator would constantly stall and people would get stuck inside of it. There were so many things wrong with the building I was living in and they didn't aid us at all. I'd also like to state that when I had first moved in, they required security, first and last month's rent upfront. That was $6,000 AND we had to pay an additional fee (non-refundable) to apply to live in the building on top of all of that. Our first rent check arrived for some odd reason, and when I had called management stating that I had already paid first month's rent, not only did I get a MASSIVE attitude from the lady who answered the phone, but she got snippy that SHE made a mistake. When I moved out, it took almost 2 full months to get the security back as well. It took me threatening them with a letter from my lawyer to finally receive it. Disgusting management company, don't even bother with them. If you find yourself about to rent from one of their buildings, run in the other direction. They're greedy slumlords. The only positive thing I have to say is that my super was very nice. Overworked and underpaid, but no surprise there... read more

This is my personal experience: They are unresponsive, they don't return calls or emails, when you do get to them, the one person that is in charge of your building is never there, she is either on vacation or "out". So nobody else can resolve issues if she is out? But she is never in! Can the person cashing my rent checks please respond then?! Where is my deposit? It has been 4 months since we moved out and not a word from this mgmt company, and of course the lady is out again. No complaints about the building I was in, however the super needs an attitude adjustment. He is on top of his job and does the work, he is also not especially friendly when you talk to him, which is fine, but he becomes almost threatening and reprimands the tenants when we do something "wrong". Tenants are like scared little school children being scolded and talked down to. We were threatened to be "told on" if we did something he didn't like. He also leaves passive aggressive notes around the building, in the elevator, next to the trash, threatening to call the fire dept -_- So much reading to do in this building. You can get the same message across in a nicer way... we are not school children from the 1890 slums ok?! read more

Don't rent apartment from this Management! Speaking to the office stuff is a nightmare! They are rude, unprofessional, and they treat you as if you are a tenant who doesn't pay rent! when you call the office, the person who is in charge of the rental agreements is NEVER there! they say "she is in and out and I don't know when she will be back, Send her email". Even though you send her an email, she gets back to you after few days or after you send her many follow-up emails and several phone calls. When you ask them to tell you the name of the manager of the building ( you live in) they say that they can not tell you because "this is private information" and they cannot give this information to the tenants!!!. Ridiculous! The building at 83rd street has mice, roaches and the bed bug issues has been reported on each floor! Do yourself a favor and find other place to rent than Leemar Management Buildings. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MANAGEMENT. This shouldn't even be considered a business, they are so unprofessional, unreliable and unhelpful. They do not take care of their buildings or they tenants' needs. They will either not answer the phone, or when they do, whoever you need to speak to will conveniently not be available - no matter what time of day. On my 6th attempt to reach a a specific dept (as well as emailing 3times), I said she is clearly avoiding me, can I speak to a manager? And then she miraculously picked up the phone. But then she yelled at me because she was too busy to speak to me, and she admitted that she was in fact, avoiding my calls and emails. When I first moved in the kitchen floor was disgusting. They told me which tiles to purchase myself and pay the Super to install. He did such an awful job (pictures shown) that I had to spend more money for a professional flooring company to come install a new floor (last photo shown) because I couldn't live that way. I also had an issue with the hallway smelling and cockroaches. I complained to "management", they did nothing. I spoke to the Super - he told me that the apartment next to me was a hoarder and she was the root of these problems. It took 9 more phones and a threat to call the state to have Leemar make any moves. Smaller issues that are aggravating considering the price of rent are the dirty lobby, dirty hallway floors, and a leak in the lobby every time it rained. I would honestly prefer to have paid even higher rent than the ridiculous price I paid for a studio if it meant they would take necessary care of the building. The elevator was another issue. It is super slow, except for the door that closes so quickly without a sensor you basically get crushed by it. I called 911 once when a girl was trapped inside. I heard her screaming for help, I first called the Super and he said that he would be around in 30min, which I thought was too long for a young girl to be stuck, so the Fire Dept came and helped her before the Super got back. AVOID THIS MANAGEMENT AT ALL COSTS. read more

Trust the reviews below and on facebook. Renting from Leemar and living within one of their buildings is an absolute nightmare. You will regret renting from them the moment you see how dirty their buildings are and how they do not respond to calls or emails. Basic repairs takes months for them to process and they do crappy quick fix jobs. Also the office staff is very rude and unprofessional. Their staff speaks to tenants like we don't pay rent. Most of us are working professionals who pay market value rent or above market value rent and are living in a dumpster. Their 83rd street building has a huge bed bug, roach, mice and garbage issues they have not helped clean up since last year. Rent elsewhere. read more

Do not rent with this company! My refrigerator has broken 4x's since I've lived in my apt ruining all my food. We are averaging once a year, only option is to raise my rent to buy a new fridge and I can't take it with me. Don't expect a response from management without at least 3 or 4 emails on anything. Appreciated regular maintenance on an old facility I've been here three years and I notice frequent work being done on the water systems int he building resulting in outages (usually posted well ahead of time. The work is finished quickly and only during weekdays so as to mitigate any inconveniences to tenants), and although I've heard people complain about it I wanted to convey my sincere thanks for doing a great job that often goes unappreciated! read more

Leemar IS A NIGHTMARE. Poorly maintained building in Forest Hills where the elevator breaks down at least three times a week. Pipes constantly being fixed so water is shut off. Always has one out of 4 wash machines out of order as they are "waiting for a part". Does it really take 3 months to get a part? We have had leaks from the roof and sustained water damage which took them months to clean up. Management personnel are RUDE, CONDESCENDING ,HORRIBLE to deal with. Lobby always smells like pot at night. Because building is so awful, some residences don't abide by rules so there is even more crap in the garbage area. Super is really the best and really works hard but it's an uphill climb when your own bosses do nothing to support you. Worst management ever. They do not care at all about their tenants. When called today about the break in to one of the neighbors' house , they acted as if it's not their problem. I told them if they cared their reputation as management and Russian speaking rep laughed at me as to make fun of me for using the word reputation. They have no interest at making the place better for tenants, they will take any body off the street. Then they will realize after glasses in main door gets broken multiple times, laundry machines' money gets stolen and they don't learn. I am moving from a Forest Hills building. The super has been great. He is responsive even though he is totally overworked. Our apartment has great light and is in ok condition. The kitchen was renovated cheaply but has been new to us, so it's been ok. There is a roach problem which we've tried to keep under control. The lobby is gross and the carpeting needed to be replaced years ago. We are moving to a place where we get more for our money. read more

This has got to be the worst management company in the history of NYC. Never pickup the phone, always trying to skimp over the work that needs to be done, and charge ridiculous rent. Literally everything is falling apart in my apartment building and apartment and they just do less than the minimal, barely keeping things in a livable condition. I lived in this building for 15 years prior to them and never did I have any problems until now. Very unresponsive and rude. They don't want to replace anything or improve anything, literally they will let you live like a rat until the apartment is in total ruin before attempting to slightly make a fix. Impossible to deal with....Had an electrical outlet installed by the super, who is not an electrician, who put a 120v outlet on a 220v current....could have burned the whole building down and burnt out an AC I purchased. I was lucky the manufacturer took it back. Had to explain this to their incompetent staff members numerous times until someone finally understood what the problem was, but not before being berated by a male staff member. I think his name was Sebastian. Also, they do not respond to phone calls or emails, and will purposely avoid you. 6-8 weeks to get your security back too. Also, YOU have to show the apartment when you are getting ready to move out...they don't send a member of management out and just give your phone number to any broker they want. If you ever find out that leemar is going to own your building RUN VERY FAST! The quality of our building went to -100! Swarms of flies, bedbugs, mice on the top floors, mountains of rotting garbage,dirty floors, and HORRIBLE MAINTENANCE overall!
