I've been getting my nails done every 2-3 weeks for over 3 years now. Plus more prior to the break during covid when things were closed. I have never once complained. If I don't like something, I just don't go back. This was... bizarre. I should have known better when the tech started trying to peel off my existing dip by using a tip edge she pulled from her box of tips. I had to ask for her to use acetone. At which point she did. I could tell this wasn't going well and did ask a couple times during the dip process, "is this how it normally looks when you're in the process of doing them?" "Can someone just take a look?" I looked to the coworkers and no one would come. "I'm a little scared but ok if you're sure" She kept trying to shape them with the file. But the base was too wet so chunks flew off. Then she'd patch it like spackle you'd do to repair a wall. Finally after repeating this several times and me asking those questions, she said "is this better?" At this point it had been well over an hour (conservative. It was likely closer to 2) WHAT?! I felt like a crazy person! I asked if someone else could finish it, she said no one else was available. I said no, it's not better. She asked if I wanted it removed, I said yes. But I proceeded to take a photo to show my friends bc I was so confused as to if I was losing my mind. She said "no take one of the other hand that's done" (except for the top coat) Again, whaatttttt??? The hand she approved is on the left! I got so stressed out bc even though I was speaking at a normal voice, other patrons could hear me bc there weren't that many people in there. She ended up soaking it off but after 5 mins I was so uncomfortable I grabbed a paper towel and started wiping it off myself and then left and finished removing it at home. The other piece of this story is that the whole time the tech kept insisting that my previous mani was acrylic. No idea what that had to do with anything! It wasn't, I haven't done acrylic since like jr prom in high school! Who even cares though. Fine let's say it was acrylic. What's that got to do with this?! Dead.

Located on Stevens avenue amongst the village shops, Indulge is tucked away nicely. The display windows are reminiscent of days gone by which adds a nostalgic touch. Making an appointment was easy, contacted via Facebook where their menu of services is located. Made the appointment for a Saturday at 10a. Was able to get parking in front of Ramble coffee house located two store fronts away from Indulge. I've driven by multiple times and have seen the signage which makes it easy to find. Walked in a few minutes early, took my coat off and introduced myself to Jenn who will be my nail person. Another person was there cutting hair as well. This salon has 4 hairstylist stations along on wall and the other side was dedicated to nail fashion. Many and I mean MANY colors and types of colors to choose from. I'm not a fan of gel or any nail treatments that require the baking effect. I was to have regular polish then talked into the next level up for lingerie wear, Dazzle dry. It dries faster and lasts longer, sold! Great up sell! Jenn and I had a nice conversation about the neighborhood and life in general. Gave her some ideas on how to spruce up the display windows. Gave her some ideas on where to get and how to store so decorations can be reused each year. My activity director role coming out lol! The initial cost is $80, with fill ins for $20. I got mine done about a month ago, and at first all seemed well. They looked amazing and lasted the two weeks the technician said they would. After the first 2 weeks I went in for a fill in & this is where things got bad. That fill in that was supposed to last another 2 weeks, didn't even last one. Almost all of the lashes on my right eye fell out. So I had to go in again 4 days later to get it fixed, so instead of charging me the $20, she only charged me $10.... which I guess was supposed to be a deal? So here we are 5 days later and lashes started coming out left and right. After hearing a horror story from a friend who got her lashes down & removed here (removal cost $40) I decided to google how to take off the lashes myself. Turns out all you need is baby oil and a lot of free time. So after an hour of rubbing baby oil and slowly wiping away the fake lashes, I was done. And when I looked in the mirror I was HORRIFIED. My eyelashes are now 1/3 of the length they were before I got this procedure done. Apparently the technician CUT my actual eyelashes before applying the extensions. As to why this was done, I have NO IDEA, but am now left with virtually NO eyelashes. It is not a good look and no amount of mascara helps. I'm now left with the choice of going around for the next 2 months without lashes, buying a bunch of fake eyelashes and applying them everyday OR getting eyelash extensions again. NONE of these options are appealing! So ladies, please THINK TWICE before getting this done here, it has been the BIGGEST mistake of my life (you can call me vain, but I now look like a freak!)
