Great customer service by Louise. She went out of her way to create a fair outcome for a problem I discovered.

Been clobbered with excessive, rip-off $37 overdraft JUNK FEES - after Berkshire Bank told me…read moremultiple times that it would no longer allow transactions to post to my account (they would be rejected instead) if insufficient funds. They do this to get even more junk fees. I've been charged almost $300!!!! in junk fees in one month after being told I wouldn't be charged them any longer. When I went into the bank to complain, the impersonal bank manager slandered/defamed me in front of staff and then openly retaliated against me for complaining even though the other employee (M. Phan) disagreed with her. AND EVEN AFTER that BB continued to retaliate by continuing to allow transaction to post to my account with anegative balance. This is easily the most anti-customer friendly, thug-like and dispicable bank I've ever dealt with. They have multiple legal claims, including DOJ investigations for faciliating a Ponzi Scheme. TAKE YOUR MONEY OUT of this bank or you might lose it. They now have another CLASS ACTION lawsuit against them for junk fees and deceptive banking pracitces. I will be filing a case against them and complaints with Mass. AG and the DOJ.

I have been with Berkshire Bank for 30 years and they have really gone downhill. Terrible customer…read moreservice (especially on the loan department) and the online banking site is also poor. The online banking was great then they "improved" it a few years ago and now it's bad. I know it's hard to get good help but BB needs to try harder lol.

If you are Divorced, going through a divorce, and/or a victim of Domestic Violence, beware of…read moreBanking with this Bank. I have been divorced for over a year and a victim of Domestic violence from that marriage. In our Divorce Agreement signed by the Supreme Court, we were to maintain a joint account for the purpose of paying the mortgage and utilities until he signs the house over to me. A few months ago he lost his job and income and apparently had accrued overdraft fees in his own personal account. The bank took MY money out of the joint account earmarked to pay bills with, and paid off my ex husband's overdrafts. Now I can't pay my electricity bill which that money was to go towards, and I may have my electricity shut off. I am partially disabled and have some serious chronic health conditions including breathing issues when sleeping which require a Cpap and could stop breathing if I don't have electricity to run my machine. I contacted the bank explaining that I am not financially or legally responsible for any of my ex husband's debts and explained the divorce agreement signed by Supreme Court regarding why we still have 1 joint account together. They have decided they were well within their Rights to take my money to pay off HIS debts just because his name was on the account. I trusted this bank with my money and they're using it to pay off my abuser's debts to the bank. From my perspective this is theft, from the bank victimizing someone who's already in a bad situation and giving my hard earned money to someone who's already abused me. And they asked me if I could ask my ex to pay me back? Do abusers usually pay back their victims? No. There was no compassion, no consideration for a victim, they only care about their policies and getting their owed money no matter who they have to take it from. I will be reporting this to all legal services I already work with, as well as to our State Representative, and notifying our local Domestic Abuse services that I've sought help with telling them to warn other Domestic Violence victims to be careful of banking with an institution that has no problem taking their money and paying of their abusers accounts if needed. I'll be alerting PR and Media as I feel this grave injustice needs to be publicized so that our community can be aware of the immoral and unjust treatment of bank customers who have already been victimized and now victimized again by bank polices that allows the bank to seize your money to pay off an abuser's debts to the bank.
