Most people don't think that their bodies have everything it needs to heal. They think healing is difficult, lengthy, expensive, confusing and sometimes impossible. But really healing can be fast, pain-free, side-effect-free, and affordable when we tap into the body's natural endogenous intelligence. The only thing required is to reset, recalibrate, and rebalance so the body can heal, restore, and reset from a history of pain. I achieve this in both my private sessions and twice a week during our community acupuncture healing circles in Hanalei and Princeville. For over 2500 years, Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used to effectively treat a wide range of health concerns, strengthening the body systems and releasing what might be stuck. At Lee Acupuncture, we use these ancient diagnosis methods and techniques of acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, guasha and nutritional advice to help patients achieve optimum health and wellness.
History
Established in 2014.
Lee Acupuncture had its grand opening in the Ching Young Village on February 14th, 2014. In China, my father was an herbalist so my first exposure to Chinese Medicine was from my parents who would make medicinal soups with bupin herbs almost on a daily basis for us. Examples of bupin herbs are ginger, goji berries, scallions, cinnamon bark, ginseng, figs, red and black dates and wild yam. The translation for bupin is 'building substance' which consists of about 70 herbs in the form of roots, seeds, fruit. Normally anywhere between 4-6 herbs are used in a soup which is then combined with meat, rice or vegetables to tonify or adjust a person's physiological imbalance. I believe this daily practice kept our immune systems strong and our bodies, all ten of ours, healthy and disease-free. I feel that taking these nourishing tonics is preventative medicine at its best and I love to share this information with my patients.
Meet the Business Owner: Linda L.
My name is Linda Ming Lee, and I am a nationally licensed acupuncturist. I received my acupuncture training in the four-year masters program at The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, California. The reason why I started this business is because I want to help people live their lives to the fullest and acupuncture is a great vehicle for me. I wanted a business that would fascinate me for the rest of my life and one that I could contribute to society in a way that felt authentic to me. More and more people are looking for natural alternatives to healing, feeling vibrant, living longer, experiencing more balanced lives. Looking at a patient through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine allows me to treat the entire person, not just their symptoms. I feel honored to work in this profession and I can't think of a better place to practice than on Kauai.
