I am floored by the amount of books, in every single category imaginable. Yes, they have a large children's section. There is a giant plush figure standing near a black pole in front of the children's books. I checked out each floor. I'm a sucker for novelty items, which they have plenty of. They sell multiple models of Polaroid cameras and film. Tons of calendars in different formats. Their vinyl room is on the ground floor, in the back. The store is sleek, clean, and organized. If you're in Berlin, I recommend visiting this store.

Beyond an insane collection of books, they also have tons of very unique novelty items that make great gifts or, something for yourself-- something that you never knew you needed. This shop is a multilevel business. They have multiple floors with books and other items on every floor. Plus, it is just stuffed full with an insane amount of books covering all varieties to quench your reading experience. As mentioned, they are much more than just an incredible bookstore. They also have a great selection of vinyl. So, for all of you vinyl enthusiasts, this is a great place to go and find that unique piece of music that you've wanted either very recently or all the way back to when you were young. It's really hard to explain just how much this store offers. I mean, if you're looking for a specific book, it's more than likely they will have. And, if they don't, they can most likely get it for you. Dussmann's great places to sit around and take a look at that book you may be interested in purchasing. Or, you can go there and have interesting discussions with your friends or family about literature and/or anything else. This is truly a great shop! Not only do you never know what you will find, but, if you're looking for something very specific, more than likely you'll be able to find it here.

Kulturforum is definitely place for the people who like art and paintings. One of my favorite…read moremuseum, Gemäldegalerie is located in this place. Beside the museum, The Berlin Art Library (Kunstbibliothek) also inside the Kulturforum building. There are also other small exhibitions going on inside, those exhibition will changed time to time, some are quite interesting. The system of this place is really great and thoughtful, it got informations and programs of all museums, concerts and theaters in Berlin. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Design of the building is quite humble and neat. One the best parts for me is the location of it. It is right next to the Neue Nationalgalerie and Berliner Philharmonie, when you want to see check out some new style of art or go for a jazz music concert, it's really convenient. Opposite is the Berlin State Library (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin), prefect place for study. Walk a bit future there the Sony Center and Potsdamer Platz, so you could watch a movie or do some shopping. In the summer, at Kulturforum there has a Sommerkino, it's outdoor movie experience. Usually, it is around June to August, I was there as well, it was quite a nice activity to get together with friends and nice experience. The price of the ticket is cool as well. The pity thing is, all the movies they play are in German. It's mostly for the locals or the people who could speak German. For me, there are many reasons made me like this place. It surrounded by many historical and great sightseeings. The building itself is also very cultural. There are many different and cool activities around, made me never found it bored.

I'm not a Puritan or a prude, but Testino's queer brand of callousness when it comes to portraying female sexuality is depressing, flat, and predictable. The exhibition hall resembled a pimply teenage boy's bedroom, with oversize foldouts of 'hot babes' pasted closely side by side on every free space of wall. Let's just say I saw more than just one man trying to conceal his woody while walking around that exhibition. Art should be stimulating, but not so much that the straight male patrons have to make trips to the bathroom to give themselves some right handed relief. Popular interest exhibitions such as these scream out financial turmoil for such institutions that host them. True, there was a line of patrons happily willing to shell out good money to see this, and I'm sure their €1500 framed Testino prints in the gift shop are a big hit with the nouveau riche in from Munich for the weekend, but the stain this leaves on an otherwise mildly respectable institution such as the Kultur Forum is irrevocable.
