I was a bit reluctant to go as it only had one review and didn't have an online store but I still went just to check it out. The place is a bit small but nonetheless a gem. The jewelry was incredibly unique and high quality. It was a little on the more expensive side (as I am a kid) but I found I was completely willing to buy as a lot of the stuff seemed to be one of a kind, or at least something I wouldn't find in my country. The clerks were amazing and really helpful. I'm usually very nervous around salespeople but I was surprised at how comfortable I felt talking to them and asking about some of their jewelry. In the end, I left with a little less money in my wallet but was ecstatic at my purchase. I highly recommend this place if you want some unique pieces at a decent price and especially pleasant service. (In fact, I made this Yelp account just to post a review! That's how much I enjoyed my visit there.)

I purchased the jewelry for my wedding day here and have received quite a few gifts that I have loved. They have pieces that are 'one-off' or a little more quirky which is why i like them. Pieces are reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly and happy to help.

If you venture into Christine (which in itself may be a little difficult, it is quite literally underground and notoriously hard to find) you will struggle to leave empty handed. Christine is the boutique embodiment of the idea that is Aladdin's Cave, for once you have decended those stairs and witness the delights within, you'll have a hard time leaving. Christine stocks all manner of shoes, jewels, handbags, scarves, scents, hats and anything else in the accessory category. Most of all, the owner (I'll let you guess what her name may be) really knows her stuff. She can recognise the label and season of almost any bag with just a glance and has an impressively detailed inventory of the store swimming around in her head. Bottom line: visit at your own peril. You may never leave and if you do, it certainly won't be empty handed.

You walk into a shop with a mission and within 1 to 2 minutes have already walked out with what you came for in hand. Every time I have come to Incu it has been successful and is my first port of call when I need a new t-shirt. A really funny story actually happened to me here. I came in to buy a pair of booties (shoes) and when I got home for some reason my brother tried them both on and noticed that one was larger than the other. I went back to Incu the next day and explained the situation, at that point the store clerk apologised for the mistake and let me know that they would exchange the larger shoe for the smaller one. I told him that would not be necessary, I would like to purchase the other odd pair of shoes and my brother would take the two large and I the two small. To this day we look great in our matching booties.

It always looked so painfully hipster and cool and everyone knows I'm a closet wannabe hipster. Yesterday I had reason to finally venture inside, on the hunt for a man-friend gift. I loved the clothing and yes it's a bit on the spendy side, but I'll live off lentils and dried crackers for a week if it means my man-friend can walk around looking snazzy and I get to bask in the gloriousness that is his hipster-cool aura. More than the great collection of threads, what impressed me was the amazing service. Helpful and patient as I asked questions and looked at various sizes of the one sweater, the dude that served me was a delight. I really appreciated his kindness and genuine interest in me as he took the time to wrap my gift. For those interested: the man-friend loved the sweater, it fit perfectly and apparently I am "the best ever". Win huh?

I'd recently decided to grow up and get myself some good luggage, and as much as I love online shopping, if I was going to drop a grand on a couple of suitcases I wanted to see them in person first and ask a zillion questions, so off to Strandbags I went. Located in the thick of things on the corner of Bourke St Mall & Swanston, ground level has handbags / small backpacks etc, and the basement level is where the travel magic happens. Stocked within an inch of the spaces life, here is where you find enough luggage porn to suit the pickiest of picky travellers, including brands like Samsonite, American Tourister & plenty of cheaper luggage sets for those that don't want to shell out big bucks. You'll also find accessories like travel pillows, power adapters etc I visited a few times to ask questions before making a decision on my purchase, and every visit the staff were friendly and helpful, but not pushy. Fun Fact: never pay full price for Samsonite or American Tourister, keep an eye out for 40% off sales

I also didn't necessarily want to be identified as a backpacker - sometimes it isn't the impression that you want to give. I had seen some backpacks that converted into suitcases. So I went to Strandbags in the Bourke St. Mall to see if I could get something like that. With two floors of bags, handbags, wallets, suitcases and backpacks there was plenty to choose from. It wasn't difficult finding what I was looking for, as there were some on display in the shop window.
