I called about two weeks ago to find out about their summer schedule for upper level math tutoring. The phone representative was very pleasant but really could not help me with my questions. They seemed unfamiliar with the upper level math at this location. I had checked the website in advance to confirm they did indeed tutor for higher math, but after speaking with their rep on the phone I no longer felt sure. The rep took down my name and number to pass along to I think the owner. I've never gotten a call back and that was at least 2 weeks ago. My guess is upper level math is outside of their typical client request. Perhaps this location prefers to focus on elementary and middle school students. This is completely fine but their website and customer service should be equipped to explain this to potential new clients. I've waited around for a response when I could have been proceeding with other tutoring centers in town. I wish they had just been upfront with me from the get-go. We will be using online resources and supplementing with tutoring elsewhere this summer. I have heard great things about this franchise in general but this particular location still has some customer service points to refine.

Through the supportive and confidence-building environment, my son has never felt behind in STEM-related subjects. He actually likes math! With that, he has had the fortune of participating in the summer programs through DukeTiP for two consecutive years, and recently, he has been accepted to Carnegie Mellon University and Boston University pre-college summer programs for rising seniors. Without the well-thought-out and nurturing support from Mathnasium during his formative years, he would not be where he is today. As math is the foundational building block for various subjects as prerequisites, I feel that every child benefits from a solid math background. So - like many people we were at the end of our rope - throwing the kitchen sink into this child…read morewho we love so much and would do anything for- that and 10k. First of all it's a struggle to get older kids to go to these places - so yes we cancelled and rescheduled some appointments - THEN get a text saying they lost their building lease and will be moving everyone to virtual - I don't know if you know - but a child with adhd or any kind of focus disorder is NOT going to do well virtually- so obviously the child flat out refuses to do the meetings - I think we have 7 left - and we get a text today saying - hey we're refunding you for the last 7 appointments because basically we're giving up on your child. Needless to say we feel robbed - we feel tricked- we put this child through so much more stress and anxiety getting to and from these meetings and to do the virtual stuff and haven't seen any real change- and then they just throw him out like trash. Probably can't get any money back bc contracts- but really - you SHUT DOWN and have no place to meet??? Disappointment does not begin to describe how I feel about these people.

The staff at Brain Balance Center was always very pleasant! I think it's important to note that…read morethis is a for-profit organization. Our first three months was very successful. When we signed up for a second session of 3 months the level of care for my child went down exponentially. We received less updates on his progress. We found that the staff were less qualified and less helpful in the second 3 months session. There is a lot of staff over turn, so the continuity and quality of care were lacking the longer we stayed. If you are thinking of trying brain balance know that great gaines can be made in behavior disorders. I saw amazing things happen for children with anxiety, adhd and autism. However, we did not see great gaines in the academic component of our program.
