He was recommended to me by a parent whom he successfully tutored with great results as well. I was especially impressed by him when there was a practice test hiccup, was super responsive in resolving the issue, and took it upon himself to do a personal makeup for my son. I highly recommend Caleb as a 5-star tutor for test prep. Overall, our experience with AJ was very positive, but there is significant room for improvement for practice test sessions. My son took two practice tests that were not well-organized and frustrated him because he had prepared for them only to feel like his time was wasted. I provided direct feedback to AJ because I was surprised that that this happened twice in a row to my son. I expected a premium tutoring service like AJ to be able to run practice test sessions routinely and smoothly because when they don't it causes additional stress and time on the students and parents. I hope AJ takes this as constructive feedback for the future.

Over time, she has become far more than a tutor -- she's a steady, trusted presence who understands how to meet a student where they are and help them move forward with confidence. What makes DeLey truly special is her deep care and emotional intelligence. She doesn't just teach; she listens, encourages, and adjusts her approach to fit each moment. She's patient when things are hard, celebrates small wins, and helps students rediscover motivation from within. My daughter has learned to set realistic goals, build discipline, and take ownership of her learning -- all under DeLey's calm and thoughtful guidance. It's rare to find someone both so reliable and so genuinely invested in a student's growth. DeLey combines academic skill with heart, and that combination has had a lasting impact on my daughter's confidence and progress. I deeply trust her judgment and am so grateful for her continued support through the years.

Irina, however, quickly put me at ease. She has a unique ability to inspire you to work harder without being intimidating. Equally important, she has helped me improve my technique a lot--teaching me to relax my hands and arms and to focus on the musicality of a piece--and the effectiveness of my practice. She is a flexible instructor, tailoring her teaching to a student's interests rather than dictating particular materials or pieces. Irina is patient and warm, with a seemingly endless optimism about her students' potential. I genuinely enjoy my lessons with Irina and only wish I had met her earlier.

Ms. Irina is charismatic and engaging -- she is very good at drawing out her students so that they are fully engaged in the lesson. Ms. Irina holds them to high standards, and rewards them for their efforts. She is honest and direct in her feedback to both the kids and to parents. Her piano instruction always includes sight-reading and theory in addition to pieces that the kids are working on towards performance at recital, festivals, etc. She also periodically hosts weekend games at her house as a fun way to reinforce theory. She has a contract with expectations that both parents and students sign so you know the expectations. She is great about giving lessons on Zoom if someone is sick or needing to quarantine. When I asked my kids what they think is great about Ms. Irina, they said, "She challenges you and pushes you to be better." That is a pretty great compliment from kids who say they don't like taking piano lessons.

The first time I met with Clark, I was impressed that he took time to understand my strengths and weaknesses before delving into subjects I wanted to work on. He asked me questions about subjects I thought I knew well only to find room for improvement. During our meetings, he focussed on how I learn and pushed me to understand details I previously neglected. He had the intuition to know whether I truly understood the material. Most importantly, he pushed to see if I had the knowledge required to answer MCAT style questions. His quizzing ensured that I could quickly answer questions I struggled with in the past. Not only was Clark well-tuned to the MCAT and the details one must know to get a good score, but he had numerous resources that were extremely helpful. He has very extensive and very helpful notes on practically every subject in physics and chemistry. These notes were of particular use when I was out of town working an internship in Chicago. While I was out of town, I still wanted to work with Clark. He was flexible and agreed to tutor me over Skype. We used google documents to draw diagrams in order to discuss problems. After working with Clark for two months, I already sense an improvement, not only in how much I understand the material we have reviewed, but also on the way I approach the typical MCAT-type problem. When I recently took the MCAT, I felt prepared. (I raised my score by *FOUR* points!) I cannot stress how important it is to feel prepared on your test day. Having a tutor like Clark can make a world of difference when you sit down to take the test and you realize you know the answers to the questions you are being tested on.

My son (who actually does well with online learning) did the trial and felt he could do better on his own. I eventually got someone who did in person tutoring. In my experience, a lot of these online classes and tutors benefit the tutor but not the students. If you have a student who does well with online teaching, maybe this is okay. But if you want to pay big money, make sure you get results. For our family, the benefit of taking the SAT over and over was good. Mr. Test Prep's approach and clear value proposition really stood out to me in the sea of the multitude of tutors and SAT prep services.
