However, upon a second visit with my Yorkies I can truly say I will never return again. After I picked up my dogs, I noticed the workers were acting a bit "off" when I picked up my dogs, I never paid it any attention until a couple days later I noticed my Yorkies eye swollen and crusted on her cheek. I went to scrub the "crust" off and after cleaning it I discovered a huge hole in her cheek, that crust was a scab covering an obvious slice from either scissors or clippers. It was the size of a dime and starting to become infected. If the workers simply told me upon pickup that she was injured I would have been able to care for her properly, however now it's too late for that and my poor dog has a scar on her cheek with possibly no new hair growth surrounding that area. Please do not take your babies here.

If you want to leave your animals at home while you are on vacation, I just can't say enough good things about this service. She also takes care of any medical care, so if our dog needs to take pills while we are gone, we can depend on her to administer them. Now, the ONE TIME we returned and our animals were not all healthy and happy: Our old-man dog used to climb our trees and then jump out of them, and we knew eventually he would hurt himself. Well, of course that happened while we were on vacation. He jumped out of the tree, caught himself on the fence, and broke his leg. The pet sitter immediately took the dog to the vet and paid for the x-ray and pain meds herself. She felt so guilty (because she didn't know our dog did this ALL THE TIME). She was very upfront about the accident and very apologetic, and even offered to pay the medical bills since it happened on her watch. As she is a vet tech, we instead just took her recommendations for a good vet surgeon who would fix our dog for a good price and do good work. She saved us about $3,000 on the surgery with her recommendation. Now, our dog is still doing awesome and still loves the pet sitter. He doesn't climb trees, though!

Midtown has nice kennels, treat the dogs well and have a nice outdoor area. I also like that they are right next door to a 24x7 veterinary clinic in case of an emergency. They also let the groomers from next door work with your dog during his/her stay. Love that! It is great to be able to pick your dog up on a Sunday. Others like to charge you for an extra night. But, more importantly, why put your dog through staying an additional night? They do not nickel and dime you to death like one of the others in town. The other charges to give your dog treats, walks, etc. No thank you to the additional charges. Just treat my dog well! This is, in my opinion, the best in Granbury.

I've been trying to plan for a week-long work trip at the beginning of May, followed some time in Europe, and needed to secure boarding. Over three days, I submitted multiple intake forms (in case the first didn't go through), sent texts, and called. There was no follow-up, no acknowledgment. Nothing. The only response I received was a single text saying they weren't accepting new boarders until May 1 and to fill out a request form...which I had already done multiple times. If you're too busy to take on new clients, that's completely understandable. But ignoring repeated outreach and sending a generic, unhelpful response isn't. Communication matters, especially when people are trying to make plans with real deadlines. They may be great with dogs, but based on this experience, I wouldn't rely on them if you expect professionalism or responsiveness.
