First question: "Do you own the home?" Yes. "How many owners are there?" I own the home. "Are there other owners?" At that point I hung up. They weren't interested in the work details, only in finding out who owns the home. Then they want all owners present for their sales pitch. It's my experience that the worst companies use this sales tactic. All of the other companies bidding on the work asked about the nature of the job, what I wanted and where the home is located. DO NOT EVER use these people - PARTICULARLY if you are a single woman. They are TAKING ADVANTAGE of people and it's not right. Their "lifetime warranty" is a COMPLETE sham used to sell you on $6,000+ worth of gutter guards that are installed IMPROPERLY and CHEAPLY, and will not hold up after even 2.5 years. After water behind an improperly installed gutter rotted out expensive fascia on a 125 year old historic home (valued over $1M and maintained meticulously), we had multiple expert roof and gutter companies out to find a source. ALL OF THEM told me what a shoddy job was done on these gutters. They are pitched incorrectly (nowhere near an angle that catches any rain), the guards are peeling up, and they sag in the middle of the roof line. I am so disappointed in this experience and I can't believe I was naive enough to be bamboozled into spending this kind of money with such a poor excuse for a company. Went in there for a 2nd job interview this morning. Showed up early. Ended up waiting 35 minutes till the sales operation manager Billy Scrubby... finally came out and said he would interview me and the guy sitting in the office at the same time. The guy sitting there wasn't even on the calendar which showed disorganization. I was fully honest about who I was in my first interview. Go in there and maybe made it 4 minutes into the interview when the guy says to me. "I can't believe you would show up with a shitty shirt and a pair of shorts to a 150k job interview. If you were my son I'd smack the shit out of you." Mind you I'm 25 year still starting on my career in SALES. I came with what I had . I'm a clean cut and handsome guy that takes care of himself. I was very taken back by this guys behavior . Tried to assume maybe He was joking but he wasn't. he's just a complete ( a word) for no reason. I recently had LeafFilter install gutter protection for my home in Clarksville, TN. The original quote was over $11,000.00. Over a decade ago, I had LeafFilter install their product on my VA house for less than $2,500.00. I was very happy with the product, but always thought I paid too much at the time. Since I was shocked at this quote for my new house, the salesman quickly applied several, "available" discounts which brought the price down to approximately $7,000.00. The salesman insisted their product and labor costs were up significantly over the past decade and that at $7,000.00, I was getting a great deal. Trusting (big mistake and lesson painfully learned) the salesman's honesty and integrity, I approved the job. A short time after the job was completed, my wife received a call from a friend in VA. This friend also requested an estimate for gutter protection from LeafFilter, and was quoted $2,500.00 for her home. My wife's friend thought this too expensive and said no. She ended up paying a local independent contractor less than $2,000.00 to install gutter protection and is very happy with both the contractor and the job. I continue to think the LeafFilter salesman I dealt with really ripped my family off! The only reason I rated them two stars is because the installation team actually seemed competent and thorough. The actual product seems to be holding up nicely (I've had it for a year); but I did want to say with the recent straight line wind storm we had in Nashville that toppled several trees, it also dislodged the corner of the lead filter system. I wrote to customer service on a Tuesday night at 10pm.... By 1:30pm the next day (yes, next day) there was a repairman at my house taking care Of it. He also walked the entire roof line to ensure there were no other places it came loose... now that's customer service!! read more

We paid 8K to have Left Filter Gutter Protection put on our 2-story 3200 sq ft home in 2015. Four years later there were black vertical marks on our white gutters at every spot where Leaf Filter had screwed down a gutter guard (see my profile pic). Two years later, I'm looking at replacing all my gutters to the tune of $6000. Ruining my gutters is not what I paid Leaf Filter to do, but it's what they did. Edit: I've actually contacted customer service and someone came out to see it and I was told there was nothing they would do. But I'll try again. Edit: I got a call back from Jeff at Leaf Guard customer service, who explained to me that this problem "happens sometimes" and there's nothing they can do about it. After the most recent storm, part of the screen from our Leaf Filter investment tore off & needed to be replaced. My husband called the toll free service telephone # to book an appointment. We were told by the cs representative a local service would call us 24-48 hours in advance to confirm our appointment window. 24hours before our appointment, we called, we were told local representative would call to confirm, no call. Day of our appointment, we called, and again were given the same excuse. We waited until well after our appointment window, still no one showed up and we called, again, we were given the same excuse. I expressed to the corporate cs representative that when we called to get an estimate 21 months ago for a purchase, a sales rep called us immediately to book an appointment but this is my very first service call and I get the run around? We had to call a total of 6 times & finally the local service rep called to tell us his crew were in the area and should be there soon. After sitting around all day, a crew of 2 showed up, ( 1 man & 1 woman) took him 5-7 mins to replace a small piece of screen, and it cost us $95. The man said "no credit card, cash" but he didn't have change, he had to ask the woman for $5 to give us. He had us sign for the repair work but refused to give us copy, he said, " no English" and both the man & woman laughed, we couldn't understand what they were saying. We did call the Murfreesboro office & made a complaint. This first time experience has been stressful, inconvenient & tiresome. Why is Leaf Filter sending crews out if they cannot communicate with their customers? That's just poor Customer Service & in need of improvement. The representative was very knowledgeable and courteous. I especially liked that the product is made in USA, will add value to my home, and has lifetime guarantee. During installation, the installer found a problem with a few of my shingles that were allowing some wasp to start a nest. They didn't have to tell me that since it was part of my roof, not my gutters, but they went the extra mile. read more

Very professional salesman and installer! Love the way the leaves just blow off my gutters and not into them!

My gutters were too close to the roof line and so needed to be lowered to accommodate installing the LeafFilter system. The salesman guaranteed that, for the price, the installation crew would remove and re-hang my gutters to allow the installation of the filters. When the first installer began the installation he just forced the filter up under the shingles, raising the shingles off the roof. Upon seeing this I explained the agreement was to lower the gutters and not force the filters under the roof. He then re-hung that section to accommodate the filters and I approved that section. The rest of the installation was done not by lowering the gutters, as agreed, but by installing supports inside the gutters allowing the filter to sit lower inside the gutter. This not only left holes in the gutter where the old supports were but also put holes in the gutter and siding well below the "severe weather" level which will leak every time we have a heavy rain. I tried to reach the company with no results until I filed a complaint with the BBB. They were at my home at 9 am the next morning. The inspector told me that I had negated my warranty by removing a cover and disagreed with me about my complaint. I sent a Demand Letter. Their reply was a copy of the warranty. I took them to Small Claims court on Breach of Contract. I lost because the installer asked me to sign a paper at the end of the installation which I was told was to verify that they had come out and installed the system and not left a mess. In small print on that paper it stated I had inspected and accepted the installation. I'm seventy years old. I did not climb up to the second story, in the rain and inspect anything. Let me be very upfront I Did NOT use this company. The reason why is this. I called for an estimate about cleaning gutters and maybe getting covers. My issue is the one thing they asked. They wanted to know if my spouse would be there when they came out. One: don't assume there is a spouse. Two even if I have a spouse and they were there I am not going to decide on the spot to use a company. Three I do not need someone to give me permission to work on my house. On Angie's list, I noted it was for planning not for right away They may do a great job and if you do not mind this kind of sale tactic go for it. I had leaf filter installed last year due to the incredible sales presentation by their associate in my home. I was skeptical but was assured that it was risk free as the lifetime warranty would cover me from any clogs or issues for as long as I owned the home. I was told I could put away the ladders and enjoy a truly maintenance free experience. Well fast forward a year later and $7000 and I've had to have my gutter guards unclogged 3 times. The first two times they did it no questions asked. However, this last time they informed me that because I've had the system for a year, there would now be a $100 surcharge for them to unclog the system. Not only is this in direct contradiction to what was sold to me, but it violates many consumer protection laws. I quickly did some research and found that there is a class action lawsuit underway against Leaf Filter for exactly the reasons I just stated. Funny how this didn't come up in their sales presentation when proudly showing off their BBB and Consumer Reports ratings. Anyways, a quick phone call to the attorneys office and I'm now part of the class action suit. Do yourself a favor and save yourself from this hassle and don't overpay for a flawed product for a warranty that will not be honored, and sold by an unethical and untrustworthy business. read more

Found these guys at the Wilson County Fair, and looked over their product. They offered a free estimate and consultation, so we took advantage. They came out, spent a little time looking over our existing gutters, and making recommendations. What we liked was not only did they install product to help our constantly clogging gutters (we have several HUGE oak and maple trees in our backyard, and are backed up to a wooded lot), but they also did routine gutter maintenance and repairs where some had gotten a little banged up when branches fell on them, all BEFORE they installed the new filter screens. Water now pours out of the gutters clean and in DROVES, and we haven't seemed to have any further clogging issues at this time. Updates will be forth-coming in the next few months as we see how this product works long term. read more

Had an estimate fell in love with the product. I have a 3 story house so concerns were raised about installing. Well here is the horror story about the customer service to "potential customer" (as I was told I "can't complain your not a customer" by the project manager) well here is my complaint... got estimate told we would have a guy walk the roof, this happened after multiple calls to different offices (was not left any contact info I.e. business card), the guy Jose told us this roof was no problem, apparently he told his PM it was. So project apparently is a no go, but we were not communicated that by ANYONE. As a matter of fact after calling and telling them he said it was no problem to us they said he told us it was we will call you back tomorrow after talking to Jose. This NEVER happened waited another week. Called corporate they took my statement gave me the local office number AGAIN, I called talked to the PM tried to explain I lodged a complaint it was then he got loud and aggressive saying "you can't complain your not a customer" I explained I can and have complained not about the product (like I said loved it) also not complaining about install (as it hasn't happened) I'm complaining no one returns calls as promised. He said " what do you want me to call you every three days to say we can't do the job". I said no just ONE call to say we can't do it would've been nice. He continued to argue its someone else's job. I told him I was a potential customer and was looking for some satisfaction either a yes or no! This is the rudest most non professional company I've ever dealt with. I would recommend to all ,unless you want to be talked to like trash, stay away. If I could choose no stars, I would. Sadly, too many things have gone wrong to mention them all. Suffice to say we are $10,000 in, it's been 2 full months of trying to get them back to our home to fix problems, and all we get are empty promises that "someone will be there within the week," or "I'll have someone call you back today." We've had a tech come who "looked" at the issues, and told us someone else, but not him, was qualified to fix these problems. He wrote a service report identifying the issues, and then we heard NOTHING. Dozens of calls and email have gone unanswered. Unlike others who have left reviews, I didn't look at the Better Business Bureau comments until after we bought this product. I should have. They kept their word, so I am too! I have to admit that I was worried about LeafFilter of Nashville, not for the product, because after Dan Puckett came to my home and showed me the "dog & pony show" I was impressed, but after going on the BBB site, I was scared! But I had a conversation with a man who assured me that we would not be disappointed! Well let me tell you, after the installer, Jose, came out, I also spoke to him and told him that I wanted to be a champion for LeafFilter and was going to express my gratitude in writing for his hard work, and quality workmanship! Jose told me that is why he prefers to work alone because he really takes pride in his workmanship and takes his time to make sure that he seals the gutters well, to further prevent "call backs." Jose really did a terrific job. He was polite and professional. He took his time in the installation, and then walked around the house making a visual inspection to make sure that all was up to snuff! If you can request an installer, I would HIGHLY recommend Jose. After the first good rainfall, there were no leaks that I could see. They worked as designed, and worked efficiently! If I had anything poor to say, it was that I did feel a bit pressured into signing on the dotted line by Dan, and he was at our house a LONG time! Our appointment didn't begin until 7pm, and he was not leaving until 10:30pm! He really would not let me "think about it" or "save up in the budget" for the expense. He just kept saying, "what will it take for you to accept this offer tonight?" But after all that time, he/they came to an offer for a payment plan that was hard not to accept. I purchased a leaf filter and gutter system from this company and was satisfied with the work. A week later, two trees fell on my home and took out the newly installed gutter system. I contacted leaf filter and their customer service staff was quite helpful and professional and they said it would take over a month for someone to come out and inspect my property and provide an estimate. While I felt that was a long time, I also understood the influx of claims being reported due to weather related events. Additionally, only leaf filter can work on your system if you do not wish to void your warranty. So, you are basically on hold until they can find the time to service your property. After a month an individual came to my property and inspected it and then they instructed me that someone would contact me about a quote and service. That individual said they believed it would be about 1-2 weeks. I waited a month before reaching out because I understood they had a backlog. After reaching out, a manager of service contacted me and provided a reasonable quote for the repair but said he would call me back in a week to provide me with a service date because he would have to find a company willing to drop off the gutter because his team is unable to do that. That was fine, however, I never heard back from that manager and again I waited a month. I contacted the service center yesterday and asked the manager to call me within 24 hours. I told them I didn't need resolution in 24 hours, just a call from the manager so that I can better understand the situation. It has now been more than 24 hours and at this point I'm not sure what else to do but write negative feedback. As you can see above, I have done my best to be reasonable and at this point I would just like to know when my property will be on the list to be repaired. One of the issues I have with this company is that I can buy a new system today and they guarantee it will be installed within two weeks but if I need a repair, which can only be done by their staff, their is not guarantee that will get back to you within even three or four months. read more

Be prepared for a HARD sell, with deceptive sales practices and theatrics. During the sales pitch, statements were made with the intent to scare me into purchasing on the spot. I was shown several products that were supposed to be from competitors, but were inaccurate representations. Multiple "discounts" were given with a big show that there were just to "help me out". They give these to everyone who even slightly balks at the high price. Installation was scheduled for the very next morning without consulting me or my calendar. After I cancelled the install, I received multiple phone calls where they tried to change my mind by arguing with me. The more firm I was in not using their product, the more they argued. They high pressure during the pitch, and were rude and disrespectful when I decided not to go with their product. read more

We had Leaffilter installed in April 15, 2019. Our first problem was that after completing installation the installer told us we had a piece of rotting wood but that he had installed anyway. During the buy phase we had talked to salesman about the place as we were worried it might need replacing. The salesman said installers would stop and let us know if they found any rotting wood and would not install until we knew about problem. That didn't happen. Second problem came with first rain when water ran over gutters not through filters and into gutters. Why? Not sure but no doubt partly because gutter filters have caught all tree debris on top of gutters. We spent significant time talking to the salesman about the design "made to let debris blow/fall off and not collect on the guards." Techs came back out and assured correct installation. Next rain again more run off over side of house. More calls to service line with promises that someone will contact us. Lots of "concern" but no calls. Only after calling back and just holding until they find someone to answer do we get to talk to someone. Finally Nashville service manager comes out. After his inspection he says Leaffilter is installed correctly but just not working. We asked for correction to make product work correctly. Manager says he can't correct because installed correctly just not working. His solution is they will just keep debris cleared from gutters. When we pointed out we could get gutter cleaning service for less and we want a working product that we paid for he just said he understood but he can't help us. Michael the manager sent techs out to clean the gutters. They cleaned the one small section on the first floor garage but did not touch the gutters that are on the higher end of the house or the second story of the house. So now the gutter guards don't work and the company didn't clean the gutters. Horrible customer service and disgust that they aren't concerned with correcting issue at the local or national level. If 6 weeks of spring pollen/tree debris clogs filters what will the fall leaves do? It makes me sick with worry about what will happen in the fall. read more

I met with Casey Jones on 5/9/19. Casey specifically disclosed Leaffilter owns all the companies across the US, none are franchised. He stated the crew would clean up as they installed the gutters and make certain nothing was left behind in the yard. Showed me ladders with special legs on the ends to keep from damaging the house. Then he showed me photos of my gutters. He stated they had standing water & mold in them. He further stated I probably have mold issues in my home. As he is allergic to mold and he claims to have started sneezing/coughing as soon as he started looking at my roof. However, he did not sneeze at all in my presence. He then told me I needed to fix the issue immediately with my gutters. I signed the contract but decided to research the company. They seem to be great with the installation but the reviews on BBB.org and consumerreports.org show complaints about the screws found in the yard. There were several complaints about the ladders scratching homes. Lastly the biggest complaint is not getting someone out to the home to investigate any issues after the gutters were installed. I cancelled my contract and my check the next day. I dont appreciate being manipulated to buy something I don't need. I had a friend come out and check my gutters no mold or standing water. I am so grateful I backed out of my deal. read more
