A crew came and covered my lawn with compost and seed in October of 2017. When spring of 2018 arrived, I had a lawn of dandelions and not much else. I was told in a voice message that they would keep at it until I was satisfied. I had not answered the phone so I had a recording of their reply. I was told various reasons by various people why their first attempt did not take. Since I understood that they would be working on my lawn, I hired them to mow and trim so that they would not have to coordinate their work with another mowing service. They received two stars based on the quality of their lawn maintenance service. For the most part, it was done well but there was always places that were not trimmed and aspects of the service that were requested but were inconsistently performed. Come October of 2018, their second attempt at my lawn took place. It was done quite differently than the first application but I was told that this would be successful. Spring of 2019 arrived and some grass finally showed itself but there were many bare spots. Once again I contacted them and was told that they would be working on it. With the exception of an aeration, nothing else seemed to be done. Once again I hired them to mow and trim. At no time did I see any type of work to improve the condition of the lawn. On October 1st, I contacted them and said that apparently they feel they have done all they could so their work at providing a lawn was over. I was told that they were just about to come and do something. At that time I also told them that I no longer needed their mowing and trimming services. Again, that was October 1st. Instead, unbeknownst to me, they were continuing their weekly mowing service. I contacted them and reminded them that I had terminated that service on 10/1. I was then presented with an invoice for four weeks of mowing service that was done after I had specifically cancelled. Between the lawn treatments and the mowing services, I have spent thousands of dollars and have very little to show for it. Draw your own conclusions. On top of that, my schedule changed suddenly the day before when my flight into town to do this move was delayed a day. Through all this, they were wonderful. They were the first to respond to my initial quote request on yelp, with very clear and professional yet friendly quotes and scheduling, and when I had to reschedule by a day they were very supportive (even responding after hours too). I believe their names were CJ and Tanner, and the owner was Dwayne, and they were so careful, but fast, and our move was organized and completely problem free! They moved a bunch of very heavy wood furniture without a dolly, like it was nothing! No nicks in the walls or damage to any of my items, and I've had those issues with other movers in the past, but absolutely no issues with Bishop Elite Services! And their attention to detail was excellent. They packed fragile things (furniture with glass, mirrors, etc) very well using moving blankets and industrial sized plastic wrap, which I had never seen done, but it was very effective and I wasn't worried about the antique furniture from my grandparents getting damaged, I knew my heirlooms were safe with them. They also made sure all of the boxes went to the right rooms and their labels were all facing out. I've had movers completely ignore the labels and put things in wrong rooms with all the labels facing the wall, so I was extra happy the carefully labeled boxes ended up in the right rooms with labels visible. They also rearranged the furniture when we changed our minds about where things should go without blinking an eye. Plus the guys were all very nice, it was lovely to just chat with them during the whole process. They also do snow removal, hauling and other odd jobs, so you should give them a call! The appointment time came and went, but I didn't hear from them. I gave them a day to reach out, but they didn't. I finally sent a note saying that I was disappointed that they weren't able to come to our appointment. Their only response was that they were delayed by rain on another job. Delay for rain I understand. Failing to call to cancel or reschedule an appointment I do not understand. They might be the best guys in town, but if they don't communicate well, that doesn't bode well for them doing what I actually want them to do.
