Walking around the circular town center is a very memorable experience. We had lunch at the Auberge which is clearly a popular spot for locals. Every aspect of the experience was outstanding, particularly my charcuterie and duck confit. It was also a tremendous value for such delicious food. If you're anywhere in the Gers I highly recommend making a trip here and to Fourcès.

They served us a delicious pumpkin soup in a little glass topped with unsweetened whipped cream making it look like a miniature milk shake. Then they added a short straw for one to sip the soup from...like a milk shake! It was absolutely delicious, creative and very light hearted but the soup was so good that the presentation just added to completeness of the dish. Our mains were the scallops and the salmon. Both prepared very well, but the salmon was absolutely perfect. Crispy skin, not overlooked and delicious. The side vegetables were good and I think some of the squash was from the garden but it was very basic and the glory was in the main dishes. We had a lovely lunch. Next time we visit Bordeaux we will be in for dinner!

I spent a week in Toulouse, and this was one my favorite places that I ate at. They only open…read moreMondays to Fridays, until about 6 pm, so it's great for lunch, or a coffee and a snack. They have a pretty small menu that changes every week depending on what they have in season, which is great because there's variety and the things are fresh. They seem to have 2 pastas, a salad, 2 sandwich choices, and a few desserts that they bake in house. You can get just a sandwich, a salad, or a plate of pasta. Or you can get a sandwich + dessert, salad + dessert, or if you want coffee or tea, they have that too. The sandwiches are pre-made so they are the fastest to grab and go. The salads take a little more time to prepare so you may have to wait 10-15 min. The salad I got had soba noodles, basil, carrots, and some lettuce with a soy-ginger vinaigrette. It was delicious and refreshing; slightly on the smaller side but that meant more room for dessert. The desserts made in house are also delicious. I had an almond apricot cake; they also had cookies, and ice cream / sorbet. The place is really cute but small, so if you have more than 4 people you may want to go elsewhere. They have only a few tables and 2 armchairs. There is no air conditioning but they have free WiFi, so I was able to do a little work on my laptop there. Would recommend this place and will definitely come here again and again!
