I lived in Nantes for 6 years, and this was my "cantine". I ate here weekly for years, and that was 15 years ago. Then I met my husband, we would go together, it was our spot.
Fast forward 12 years, I've been in the US for 10 years, and every time I have pizza, be it the one awesome Neapolitan pizzeria in Chicago, the promising wood fired pizza place in Cincinnati, the "authentic" spot in Jacksonville... They all kinda fall short.
If you want to try this place, come right before they open. There will already be a line. Or you can make a reservation.
We came yesterday while in France for a few weeks. Our pilgrimage to Pinnochio's was mandatory. Apart from the chairs and tables, everything was the same. Seems the owner and the waiter don't age either. Must be the magically delicious pizzas. I had my awesome calzone. My husband went for the Sicilienne. I would kill for a just-done-right egg yolk on my pizzas stateside.
My 20 month old slurped up her spaghetti all a bolognese. She doesn't really eat normally. And she was loving it. My 6 year old loved his pizza.
Now France isn't super baby and kid friendly when it comes to restaurants. This place happily got us a baby booster and they never made us feel like fools for bringing our kids (like most places do).
