I WOULD NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! We went to have dinner here because it's the spot recommended in…read moreguidebooks and by our hotel as a resto with a view of the castle. We didn't make a reservation since it's the off season, and were seated right away. I let my husband have the seat facing the castle, which we could kind of see through the large glass windows, although not well since the room was so brightly lit. Our waiter was attentive but had a very hard time understanding my French. I asked for "une minute" rather than "un moment" and apparently that was beyond him. (Come on my French is not that bad! But I digress...) When we did order, he asked if my husband wanted the "menu" even though there was no menu offering the entrecôte, which is what he ordered. He completely forgot the entrée that was ordered, and brought our dinners almost immediately. This was good as we were hungry, but the food was completely unsatisfying. Husband's steak was far bloodier than he asked for, and my duck confit was dry and overly salty. All in all not a big deal, after all it's a touristy area on the main drag. However: there were a couple of flies that kept buzzing around our table, the drapes behind the table, our bread basket, etc. I could not understand why they were focusing on our table, until I looked up at one point and realized that the entire ceiling was covered in literally 30-50+ flies! Now, this is off season. It's October and it's cold outside. The doors and windows were not open. WHY were there flies inside???? I was immediately horrified and snapped a few photos (I did take photos of our meals - they were well presented even though they weren't that tasty.) The flies were also in the lobby as we paid at the bar. We will never, ever, EVER eat here again.
