A friend was dismayed when he found out where we were staying. "But that's near the train…read morestation!". Often train stations are not in the best of neighborhoods. But this is why I first looked at this property; it's possible to take a substantial amount of luggage to the TGV station which is steps away. Our room overlooks a lovely courtyard. The fatigue of travel was quickly erased by a foot massage in the luxurious spa, which has a hammam and sauna. Our room is commodious, and the bathroom roomy, with separate toilette, tub, and shower. A few days here and we'll be ready to recommence our travels!

I had foie gras which was on the daily special menu as appetizer. It came with 3 large pieces of foie gras on a bed of mushrooms. The portion was so generous, I could just had that for dinner. Then I saw the veal head / cheek stew on the neighbor table and asked if I could change my entree to that, and they happily made the change. It was sooooo good!!! The broth and vegetables were nicely flavored and the meat just melted in my mouth! Marked in my collection for Burgundy, DEFINITELY will visit again the next time we are in the region! Normally wouldn't order steak in a French restaurant, but given the high praise we did. Asked for extra rare. Came out medium and tough. Couldn't eat it so asked for a replacement. After conferring with the chef, they did cook another steak for us. Wasn't much better. There are better and less expensive places to go in Paso. Sorry I'm not one of LPC's fans.
