I love buying yarn as a souvenir when I travel, so my trip to Switzerland was not going to be an exception! I had extra time in Geneva and found this through Yelp. It was close to the bus/tram line, and in a cute neighborhood - when I arrived in early afternoon, an open-air market was just closing down in the plaza across the street, and there was a tasty looking gelato place on the far corner, too. The neighborhood alone is worth the detour.
As for the shop itself, I thought it was lovely. It's not huge, but I thought its size and selection were formidable. The brands were mainly European ones that my local shops in California don't carry. Since I was in Switzerland I settled on some Lang yarn for myself - there was definitely a good variety of Lang, and lots of colorways! While I don't have a local yarn shop to compare pricing to for these brands, I felt like the pricing was fair and in keeping with prices I pay for nicer yarns, and especially considering Swiss prices overall. The proprietress was also very nice - she gave some good help to another customer, and kindly let me stumble through my poor French.
Definitely worth the side trip! read more
