When we arrived in Annecy we were determined to find a fondue restaurant since that is what the region is notorious for. We were a party of five and we were quickly assisted when we arrived. There is indoor and outdoor seating available for you to choose, but we opted for a table inside just so we wouldn't have to wait. The patio was pretty busy when we arrived. The staff was super friendly and were happy to speak english with us. We did a total of three fondues for the five of us. We ordered two fondues of one type and then one of another, so they combined the two portions into one pot. I think it was the perfect amount for the five of us. It's kind of hard to gage how much to order and whether it will be filling enough or not when it comes to this. To complement the cheese we ordered some side dishes like small house salads and charcuterie boards, just so we weren't eating only cheese. The house pitcher of wine is cheap and delicious. Someone in our table ended up ordering a bottle of wine they didn't end up liking and spent a couple of euros on it. This was some of the best fondue I've ever had and would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to have a local delicacy in Annecy. Cheese lovers will adore it.

The place was bustling - an indication of the restaurant's growing popularity - and miniature fake pine trees hung from the ceiling. We did not question them. They were seasonal and somehow served the atmosphere. Forget about creative design. Let's get to the food, which was an experience in and of itself. We ordered raclette, accompanied by a small charcoal grill, squeezed onto our table - a sort of cozy tableside fire. Lastly, everyone selected the carousel dessert buffet rather than the formage cart. Both options had soooo many delicious items. There were so many different courses that I will try to highlight the best or most surprising. A pea soup with a pea puree, a pea consomme, and actual peas. Interesting presentation, and very pea-y. (I like that word, ha ha) A fish mousse with a thyme cream sauce. This one was very simply presented and unadorned with any color or texture whatsoever. For a chef to make something so plain in these times shows either laziness and unimaginativeness, or it shows guts. In this case it was guts. This dish was so aromatic and flavorful, and the texture was fantastic. Another soup with girolle mushroome and a foie gras cream. The fois gras was not overpowering, quite subtle. A tomato "tartare" made to look like beef tartare, with anise flavor and microgreens, and also a frozen slab of tomato water on top, which you busted through with your fork to get at the lovely tomato below. It was fantastic and quite inventive. The obligatory cheese course, followed by 3 different desserts, randomly presented to different people at the table. So of course we had to share. We simply passed our plates to the right. All were great, one was a bit fruity without much variety, but still very good. Then the mignardises came. Oh my. Explode-in-your-mouth cylinders of chocolate with liquors inside. Wow. Other jelly-like things, too many different things to remember! Our wine was divine, the service impeccable. The main reason I am giving 3 stars and not more is because there are many other restaurants in Chamonix where you can get equally good or better French food for cheaper. I found that the hotel I was staying at, (Les Aiglons) for example, had better food for cheaper, as did some other restaurants.
