The castle is very beautiful, and has long history. The only room that I chose not to go into was the Torture Chambers. Other than that, it was a very pleasant walk on the grounds. My favorite part of the castle was the bird show. The handlers did it in French, but it was still worth it because the birds are so beautiful to look at. If you're near the town of Bouillon anyway, then you might as well take the tour.

It was from here that the unlikley combination of Godfroi de Bouillon, his mother and Peter the Hermit set out on the first crusade in the late 1090s. The castle is surprising large - you think you've seen most of it but it just keeps going on and on - with great views of the town below. It is great to explore for adults and little ones alike. If you still have any energy, Bouillon is set in a natural amphitheater and there is a great walk up the hill by the river to a viewing point above the town.
