The menu is short and changes regularly; a couple first course options, a couple main course choices and then a finite list of desserts made in house. The food is always fresh and thoughtful, they know just what they are doing which is why you don't need a lot of menu options. We went for the rather fabulous five course Apicius menu (75 EUR), which was a lot of food but featured so many of our top picks for the A La Carte menu. We started with scallops serves with lardons, sweet potato and truffle oil - divine! Then there was a rather impressive sweet tomato lasagna with lobster (with the claw clambering out of the bowl!). We rounded things off with a most impressive cheeseboard, which meant we had to sample some more local Cancoillote and Comte. I have to say at that point I sort of gave up, unusual for me with my sweet tooth, but I was so full I couldn't face dessert! Lovely service, friendly place and a little more upmarket than the average place in Besancon. Definitely worth a visit!
