This place was such a great find! It's highly rated on TripAdvisor and sounded unique so I decided…read moreto stop in. I called ahead to make a reservation, which I would recommend everyone do as seating is very limited and you don't want to miss this! The reason seating is so limited is because the man working there is the owner, waiter, host, and chef. It's just him! Very impressive and definitely enhanced the experience. When you sit down he explains everything on the menu and how he prepares it. I had a red wine that he recommended and it was delicious! For dinner, I had the duck. It's truly as amazing as everyone says! However, the unsung hero is the salad that comes on the side. The dressing is a sort of mustard vinaigrette that I've never tasted before but will definitely be searching for in the future. I also had the chocolate fondant for dessert and the chocolate was so rich I ALMOST ;-) couldn't finish it. Overall, this place was amazing and definitely something you shouldn't miss when visiting Montpellier!

The chef puts so much thought and care into his dishes, which was evident in not only the taste of the food but the way he took the time to describe the process of each dish to us... et en anglais! We started with the chacuterie plate which had an amazing pâté. I ordered the duck- which was so soft and delicate. We were too full for dessert, but wish we had room to eat more. If I ever find myself back in Montpellier, I will definitely be back!

The menu options for food are very limited until 18:00. We both settled on the Entrecôte which comes with fries & salad. Medium rare. We have never been anywhere in Europe where they serve any steak cooked longer than medium. My steak was served pretty close to well done and had no flavor. The fries were like bottom of the barrel bits of crunchiness. But they did put a couple of decent ones on top. I ordered a glass of rosé that pretty much tasted like vinegar. It was poured from a bottle that had about 1/4 left in it. My husband had the red which was the very last bit in the bottle and didn't amount to even a glass. The server said that he'd open another and pour some more. That never happened. Service was typical. Price was high for what we received. Truly disappointed. May be fine for a drink or maybe dessert, but I would pass on food.

Based on trip advisor reviews, I ordered the fish soup (which I wouldn't normally order in the states), and the mozzarella/tomato salad - it was great! Our waiter was so friendly and spent time with us recommending different places around the town. I made a reservation beforehand and believe they had given us a waiter who spoke english knowing we were from the US...What a plus this was. It was so good we contemplated going back a second night. Definitely recommend if you'll be in saint remy!

There are quite a few options in the area so we really took our time checking out the different menus and seating areas. Chez Regis is tucked away in the corner of a very nice central part of the downtown area. My wife really liked the menu options and we had been looking around for awhile so we decided to give it a try. We were immediately seated as it was not very crowded at first, and were sat at a small table for two. We asked for a little bit bigger table to have a little more room but were told no, we had to sit at a table for two since there was only two of us. We sat on the outside patio and enjoyed the fresh air and watching all that was going on around us. By the time we were finished, there were a lot more customers that had arrived since we were first seated. We sat down and ordered drinks while we reviewed the menu. The menu had quite a few selections but we quickly noticed the main specialty and most of the options were Moules...or mussels. I ordered the Moules Gratinee and my wife ordered the Moules a l'escargot. Wow! These were by far the absolute best mussels we have every had...and definitely the best mussels we had during our two week trip to France. Both dishes were full of great flavor and were super delicious. The mussels were not tough at all and even though the serving was quite large, we devoured them all! We were actually quite surprised to see how large the serving was, especially for the price which was very affordable and probably the best price we saw for mussels during our visit as well. Our meal also came with a side of fries...which were also perfect! The staff was very friendly and attentive and we also used the restroom, which was inside the actual restaurant. The inside was very nice as well and the bathroom was very clean. Our only negative would be the table situation. As you can see from the pictures, the dishes were quite large. When you add drinks, bread and side of fries for each of us the table was quite cramped. Of course, the meal made up for it and we really enjoyed our experience at Chez Regis. I highly recommend you give Chez Regis a try, you will not be disappointed!
