Great lunch option for Somme Cemeteries and Battlefields…read moreThis is a great spot for lunch if you are visiting the cemeteries and battlefields of the Somme. We stumbled across this little cafe on a Sunday afternoon and we were so grateful to find it open at a time when the rest of France seems to be closed. We had a lovely lunch with a wonderful pot of tea and a great time chatting to owners Alison and Jon who know a lot about the area!

We were unexpectedly surprised by the quality of this café. We thought that since they are located…read morein the train station and there are not many café options nearby that they would be less than great. However, I am happy to say we were wrong! I had the salmon picatta which was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy skin. The oil sauce was delicious as was the pairing with the potatoes. My husband got the penne with crispy speck (I don't think that's the official name but it was all I could get out of him) which I tasted and we both thought was delicious. The service was exceptional. While our server did not speak much English she was still exceptionally kind and understanding of us and we communicated just fine. Some of the other wait staff do seem to speak English as well. The espresso was excellent as well. Finally they were very prompt with both the food and the bill, likely a result of being located at a train station where passengers attempt to time their meal with their train departure. I highly recommend this place!
